Hello Tiger faithful... True Blue Georgia Southern fan here planning to make the trip to Baton Rogue. We have a small group that has parking in the "Tobasco" lot (which might be the greatest name ever for a parking lot). We've heard great things about the hospitality of Tiger fans and are looking forward to the trip. Any suggestions on must see, must do on game day? Anyone else in that lot or a nearby lot we should stop by and say hi to? Any information would be appreciated.
With that out of the way, I'll reserve any trash talk for other threads where it may be invited and encouraged. While I've lurked this forum for many years, I won't overstep and be a rude guest.
GATA!! GEAUX EAGLES!!

Watch the band come down the hill. Watch the players come down the hill. Go by Mike's cage.
Then just soak in the day. There will be plenty people around to mingle with, and point you in the right directions.
If by any chance you invented a portable AC that you can bring around with you as you sit outside/walk around, bring it with you. It's going to be as hot as you can possibly imagine.

Well... if you're into that sort of thing. We'll trade bird doodie for crayfish heads.

Crayfish?
It's crawfish, and nobody will be eating boiled crawfish at that game.

How many lines of bird doo-doo will your QB do before the game?
J/k
If you walk around and are talkative you’ll have a good time. There will be some light trash talking but if you can take it and dish it back out a bit you’ll be welcomed.
Must sees are Mike, watching the band/team come down victory hill, and getting to your seat early enough for the 4 corner salute. I’m not sure on the exact times but someone else will come along and let you know I’m sure.
Hope you have fun!

Start off with brunch somewhere around campus. As someone said, Definitely go see mike the tiger and watch the band/players walk down the hill.
As for the actual day of tailgating, just walk around campus. Plenty of folks would love to give you food and booze and play some drinking games.

Hey yall, oldfart here hoping to get in on this welcome party. I've been a Georgia Southern fan since the day the late Erk Russell was announced as our head coach when we restarted the program in 1981. We've had many tremendous highs as a program as well as a few disappointing years, but here we are, coming off a rebuilding season after going 10-3(after a 2-10 season) with a bowl win, getting ready to head out to Baton Rouge to take on mighty LSU. Like Pike51, we'll be parking in the hot sauce lot and would love to meet some of yall Tiger fans. I'll be bringing some authentic Georgia moonshine and would love to sample the tailgate atmosphere at your storied venue. I like crawdads, the late Justin Wilson, and hot humid weather because it reminds me of Statesboro.

Crawfish season is over by June. No one is boiling crawfish this time of year. The season runs from late December to June peaking around late April. And peaking means, plentiful, big and still easy to peel.
With that said you'll find some great food from the surrounding LSU tailgaters.

A couple of questions:
Do yall have gnats down there?
Are gator hunting permits hard to get?
