Can't speak for the seating.
Local seafood:
Chimes- it's right off campus great beer selection, best crab stuffed mushrooms this planet has to offer, amazing LSU atmosphere.
Parrans: (Pah-rans) Overall better quality in food compared to Chimes (except the stuffed mushrooms). Appetizer: get the crawfish and crab au gratin (aw gra-ten). It's basically crab and crawfish baked in a creamy cheesy casserole type dish served with toasted french bread to dip. I always get the andouille crusted fish (black drum) which comes topped with a crawfish mushroom cream sauce.
(I moved to Texas a few years back, when I come to town and want seafood, I exclusively go to Parrans, unless my buddies want to grab some good draft beer, in that case, we go to Chimes.)
Louisiana Lagniappe: fine dinning atmosphere, expensive, but excellent food.
I hope this helps, and welcome to Baton Rouge and The Real Death Valley. Have a great time!

Will probably be hot. My wife and I take a break in late afternoon and go to TAF tailgate in the Assembly Center. They have free beer and A/C. Band performs along with Golden Girls/cheerleaders. Must be a member or guest. I would be glad to bring y'all in if you would like.

Louisiana Lagniappe on Perkins Road. Opens at 5:00 p.m., no reservations always a wait. But you won't regret the wait. Awesome place.

Go to Sammy's on Sunday and enjoy a Saturday in BR
That's what I did. Got into BR around 1 pm, went to the stadium and walked around enjoying the atmosphere until game time. Next morning I woke up and went to Sammys and damn it was good. Good looking waitresses as well.

Much better options around town that Sammys.
If sammys knocked your socks off then I could name 10-15 other places that would make you never leave

Row 60 for sure.
Places to eat depends on where you are staying. Here is a start:
Louisiana Lagniappe
Parrain's
Juban's
Mestizo's
Beausoleil
Little Village
Mansur's on the Boulevard
Monjuni's
Bistro Byronz
Gotta have pizza from Fleur de Lys

As someone who still holds a place in his heart for Aunt Josie's (CuseEric understands), you can skip the Baton Rouge Italian Food Scene (Ruffino's, Gino's, The Village).
Baton Rouge isn't a food Mecca like New Orleans or Lafayette. For upscale, I'd recommend Mansur's and Juban's. For a good steak and LSU atmosphere I'd suggest Doe's Eat Place.

New Orleans is the only food Mecca in Louisiana. Lafayette has a unique culture though. Baton Rouge is neither, but it's the best of the three to enjoy college football.

Not sure why you're being downvoted. ACME is a huge gulf coast chain. It's embarrassing that they won best oysters in 225's Best of BR.

Another chain. Cmon, y'all. This man doesn't want chains or BR Italian restaurants. Show me the good Creole/Cajun cuisine we have to offer.
1.) Parrain's for dinner the night before
2.) Chimes for lunch the day of

BR has solid choices for regional fair, but just isn't going to knock your sox off with selection of upscale or truly creative dining experiences.

Fleur de LIS
Good grief, people
But... no way it's worth a trip from campus

lol at all the people downvoting Walk-On's.
Food isn't great, but the atmosphere game day weekend is pretty fun. And it's easily accessible to campus.

Welcome aboard Orangeman! (I'm a traditionalist, so it's not the Syracuse Orange). Btw, I have a friend in Montana that's a huge Cuse fan, basketball mostly. I grew up a dolphins fan so thumbs up on Czonka!
I have not been here in over 15 years, but just outside the gates of campus is the best breakfast you'll ever eat..

Great for seeing sideline action, but you'll be staring at one of the three jumbotrons for the game itself.

If you have the time, check out Houmas House. Great food and atmosphere 45 minutes outside of BR.
