Amazing what some people say about this stuff, Sammy.

Yea love the way this little fact is completely left out of the discussion.

We should have enough horses in the stall to be able to compete. Simple as that.

This isn’t a low character thing to fix
He isn’t lying, cheating or swindling.
It’s a business, this is a business decision.
Sorry your feeling are hurt, but Greedy has been nothing but a high character player.

The fact of it is, Greedy could get into a catastrophic car wreck on the way to the draft and end his playing career. Life happens. Maybe I’m selfish but you played the whole year, you should be able to play one more game out of respect for your teammates at the very least.

Who’s going to pay for Greedy and his family to survive if he suffers a career ending injury?

Regardless of his "poor" decisions, doesn't change the fact that he has a daughter to think of and he's making the best decision for her.
frick what everyone else here thinks.

Again this is a necessary risk, the bowl game is not.

Why are people so divided on this issue?
People are so emotional.
He both made a decision that is good for his family while ALSO letting down his team. Not sure why that’s so hard to grasp.
No matter what the motivation, he did still quit on his team. That will catch some criticism.

It’s sad that many here fall for the “he has a daughter” line. Such a cop out.
If he was doing it for his daughter he should have quit immediately following the Bama game.

Why? We weren't technically still out of the playoff discussion at that pint. I bet if we went back through your posts, we'd find you making that very point.

Oh how easy it is to judge when it’s not your money. Who gives a shite, it’s just a fricking game.

And the first question every NFL GM would have asked was "why didn't you stick it out while your team was still in the hunt?" It would bring up questions about his competitiveness and commitment to winning. Skipping regular season games isn't the same as skipping a post season game with no implications.

exactly, like it or not it is a statement on his character

This is a tough one for me. Logically, I get it and support it but...
If Greedy is doing anything but sitting on his couch with his church buddies, he’s probably at greater risk of injury and/or trouble than affiliating with his team and playing in this game.
I’d like to see a regression analysis that compares activity risk.
