Plus the Agent's cut as well. I was watching a thing on Aaron Hernandez and a lawyer said that players get about 30% of the reported contract. I have a hard time believing it's quite that low, but I have no proof of that whatsoever.

This is wrong. Rosen, at 10, got fully guaranteed $17.2 million and a $10 million dollar signing bonus.

You gonna give up 25-30 million to play in a bowl game against UCF (your answer is no, by the way)? Schools strip scholarships all the time, yet you never complain about that. He’s done as much for LSU as LSU has done for him. And he’ll donate more in his first year of work than you and I will over our entire lifetime -combined (assuming you even donate).

Frankly, I cannot believe White is playing.

I bet you wouldn't be saying that if he was sitting out of the college football playoffs.

And yes that is the same thing. As were the last 3 games of the season.

It's nowhere near the same and he wouldn't be sitting out the CEO. Stop.

Top 10 pick has quite a bit guaranteed. If thats the only contract he ever gets, its life changing money. So, yeah him avoiding risk of injury in a bowl game makes sense.

The insurance on athletes is incredibly hard to claim and never pays out the full coverage if any.

Do you really not understand? His signing bonus as a first round draft choice is absolutely guaranteed money--money he risks losing playing a meaningless game should he get hurt and his draft stock fall.
100% I’m glad I get to see D White play in the purple and gold one more time but that’s me being selfish, if it was the first playoffs then yes. If I were his family I would advise him to sit

Enlighten us then genius.

So you're saying he should risk his daughter's future and 20million to play in another game where he isn't getting paid for our entertainment?

The NFL coaches and front office execs use player's performances once their teams are out of the playoffs as a measure of a player's competitiveness. There is free agency in the NFL so all 32 teams view that tape. He would be setting himself up to be questioned about that later. It's not the same in an exhibition. Plus, winning a national championship is a once in a lifetime oppurtunity for most people. You don't just pass that up.

Top round picks like 1-2 are about 50 - 70% guaranteed money plus a large signing bonus.

Here is Fournette's contract for Round 1 pick #4

quote:

Leonard Fournette signed a 4 year, $27,150,842 contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars, including a $17,886,067 signing bonus, $27,150,842 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $6,787,711.

And guess what, he’s going to be s pro bowler and sign a huge contract in a year. I think he’ll be plenty rich and fine and be able to feed his family.

But will have about $16 million less in his bank account.

Jaylon Smith was headed to be a possible top-5 draft pick when in his final college game, he was pushed from behind and awkwardly twisted and bent his knee.

The injury was brutal: his ACL and LCL were torn, and he had nerve damage. He ended up being drafted in the second round by the Cowboys — but likely, even with an insurance policy, lost a large amount of money and was placed on injured reserved by the Cowboys this week. Should he have gone in the top five, as projected by some draft experts, his contract would be in the $20 million range. Instead, he got $4.42 million guaranteed.

So is a NY6 Bowl game against a UCF team that hasn't lost a game in 2 years.

You've been arguing that he shouldn't risk playing because of his chances of getting hurt and losing millions. But now you're saying for CFP he should risk it all. The money is lost either way if he gets hurt.

You’d risk 25-30 million guarteend to play UCF at the Fiesta? If so, we cannot rationalize with you.

You'd risk 25-30 million guaranteed to play another couple of college football games that you're not getting paid for?

That national championship ring is worth 25-30 million to you?

Another LSU junior taking the money and running. We’ll never get to the playoffs if this “I’m gonna get mine” culture continues.

Some players dont make it to the fat contract is the point of getting as much as you can the first. Everyone should give it a rest. I thinks it's a smart decision but I also think he should have to pay back prorated scholarship money for missing bowl game without injury lol idk
