Golden Glove - SS...

Just saw Kolby Branch was selected for the Golden Glove at SS.
Looked up the criteria, and it said players will only be evaluated by defensive stats.
Milam had better stats in each category. What gives?

Not sure why but Branch seems to be a sports media darling. Milam gets my vote but I wear P&G glasses so.........

Milam wasn't even a Finalist. All 3 Finalists had a worse fielding % than Milam.

Maybe I’m a little tipsy but I cannot find the ABCA / Rawlings requirements/criteria for consideration. Everything I’ve chased down goes back to softball or mlb.

It’s disturbing man. I took screen shots of what I searched for and it still brought up softball. I cannot find the abca requirements.
(Not that the screenshots were gonna change the results, just that I have proof).

Milam is a victim to us being left out of the dance due to our down year. If we made it to the Supers or Omaha he would have been on the list and potentially could have won it. Might not be fair but that is what it is.

Curiel won one this year as an OF. So I don't think us missing the tournament had anything to do with it.
Milam wasn't even on the list of finalists which is even more ridiculous.

Its not apples to apples. Media darlings that make the post season are going to make the list. Kolby wasn't all defensive in the SEC and makes gold glove finalist....

I believe this, as most awards, are predetermined before the season starts. there is no rational reason why a player with better fielding stats is not even nominated or in the last couple of contenders.
Feel bad for Milam, maybe next year he will be appreciated .

What better fielding stats did Milam have? I’m genuinely curious. I’ve only seen someone mention fielding %, but there are other defensive stats that take range and other things into account.
I’m not saying Milam wasn’t also better in those categories. But if fielding % is all that matters, why even have a vote? Just give it to the SS with the best fielding %.
