I'm going too...but I don't have tickets. I think Ark season will be so bad, Ark fans will be giving them away outside the stadium.

I'll be there for 4 days. Is there enough to do there for four days?

After this 4 game stretch there will be arky tickets. I plan on getting 6, have some friends coming up from the Minden area. Four days in Little Rock is pushing it unless you don't mind driving around. I would spend a day in Hot Springs (about an hour away), one or two in Memphis (couple hours), and then a day in LR. Don't know what you're in to so maybe some more info and us Arky bunch could help.

The best route from BR is up 61 to Natchez, cross the river to Vidalia, hang a right at Clayton on 65 and come thru Pine Bluff to LR.

I've made this trip about 50 times and the small town cops love to write tickets, so slow down!

Tickets for sale on the day of the game will be plentiful. Don't let not having a ticket keep you from coming. Let's take over that stadium!

I got nailed by the cop in the last town before the Louisiana line. You come down this hill where the speed limit was like 65 and whamoo, it's 30. Got stuck over $200 and huge increase in insurance for 3 years.

Coming from BR, best route, IMO, is 61 to Natchez then 65 to Pine Bluff, 530 to Little Rock. You WILL see cops in: Vidalia, Ferriday, Clayton, Waterproof, East Carroll Parish (the worst), Reed, AR and Gurdon, AR, sometimes Gould, AR. Despite that, you can make pretty good time.
How many hours?

I'm in Lafayette and may try that route (only adds about 50 minutes. Going up through Texarkana sucks.

Don't be in a hurry to leave. It's a Chinese fire drill on that golf course/hill area that everyone parks on. It's as bad as it gets. I'll be there, though...always am.

If you are coming through Lafayette, the path through Shreveport is best unfortunately because that drag to Texarkana does suck indeed. It is still the shortest and quickest. Sorry. Kinda like this bailout. If you have to drink some poision, might as well be the best tasting.

Oh, and don't buy tickets through some ticket scheming auction site. There will be PLENTY o' tickets by the time the Pork Loins play us. They nearly lost to the University formally known as Northeastern in this same stadium. Tiger fans will be able to turn War Memorial into Death Valley North if they so choose so. There were arky fans GIVING away tickets to Bama in Fayetteville.

I go I-55;exit hwy 27 @ Crystal Springs, which takes you to I-20 @Vicksburg to Tahlula(sp). Then 65 north from there. That seems to be the easiest drive to me.

You mean Northeast Louisiana University aka ULM?

I would think the fastest way from Lafayette would be I-49 to 167 through Ruston/El Dorado. It's 2 hours or so from El Dorado to Little Rock. 423 miles going through Texarkana, 352 going my way. Knocks 70 miles off. You can open it up from Ruston to El Dorado and pretty much go as fast as you want.

My grandparents live north of Little Rock, so I've made the drive from BR hundreds of times. All the routes suck, really.
Just depends if you prefer heavy truck traffic on interstates, or the highways through towns. Pick your poison.
Plenty of hotels and easy to get around once you get to the Rock. Pretty good babybacks at the Whole Hog on Cantrell, just make sure you go to that one.

That's what I mean. Back in the day (especially when I went to La Tech), folks from LA referred to NLU as Northeastern. Just like some folks still think of SLU as Southeastern. Obviously if out of state, I would not say these as school names as they may confuse people.

But when talkin' in shorthand with my common folk from Louisiana, I cain't help myself.

In either case, I digress....going through Ruston is possible, but know that is a lot of two-lane highway.

For my money, my favorite smoke-joint is a place called Burge's in the Heights of Little Rock. It is a satellite of a place around Hope, AR. They make quite possibly one of my favorite sandwiches I have ever eaten. It is their smoked brisket sandwiche. Unbelievable how good this thing is. 15 hr smoked brisket is something to behold. Granted, this is the only sandwiche I like here. It is not Mother's that has a billion of them. But, I'd put this one sandwiche up to the any of that Mother's may fix. (OK, that may be going far, but it is one good sandwiche) And not far from the stadium if you know LR.

Bossier to Texarkana is a lot of 2 lane as well though. There really is no quick way there.

BTW, should 49 be an Intrastate since it only runs from Shreveport to Laffy? I know it's going to extend through Texarkana eventually, just saying...

That's what I think every one time a year I go through there. Oh, and a mental note to make...there is not ONE bathroom in between Texarkana and Shrevport...unless you mean to stop by Sling Blade's house to piss. I learned this the hard way.

You can't get off at Mooringsport? I've gone many times when playing in Hope, just never had to stop. It would be wise to stop in Shreveport though before going up 1.

Not going up 71. It's a deadzone. You may be able to find something in Fouke once on 549, but you may have watchout for the Gimp. That may be extreme, but I was bitter after one trip when I was not wise enough to just stop in Texarkana on my way to Shreveport/Bossier.

Worst post game traffic in the SEC...luckily I secured two rooms at the Hilton across the interstate so we will be walking back to the hotel this year!
