You guys can't just let a 14 game win streak speak for itself, can you?

Hanover started for 9 of those games at 3B so speak to me about that, please.

Which scenario would you prefer?

A. Luke Sanders starting LB football

B. Helenihi starting line up baseball

Well, I certainly didn't see anything especially bad in his swing tonight,

you missed when he swung 2-0 right after the pitcher walked someone when we were trying to mount a rally?

but it's just ridiculous to call him an automatic out.

but he is, especially when he is slumping. He did the same thing from mid point last year until the end of the year.

Disagree. Hanover had an awful at bat that easily could have cost us the game. I'll take my chances with the senior. Hanover will get his shot next season.

Why would you change a good thing? Is he struggling yeah he is but Sean O was struggling also but he came through tonight.

Helenihi may be batting 1-16 or 1-17 so far in college world series but was a good hitter during regular season. He will hit again, even if he just works the pitchers managers a walk out of them I would be ok.

frick next season. We are 1 game away from the National Championship THIS SEASON and the simple fact is that Hanover is a better baseball player than Helenihi, and him being in the lineup gives LSU a better chance of winning.

right now compared to Hanover...he's an all-world gold glover..not even close.

And Hanover hasnt exactly been lighting it up at the plate the last month or so....save that hanger from Cox..

Paul Mainieri saw that if he continued to start Hanover at 3B that he wouldn't win many more games in a row. Seriously, everything PM has done this year, every single move, has resulted in success. And some of you, who obviously must know much more baseball than him, want to change things when we're one win away from a National Championship. Think about how stupid that sounds.

Also, most of you totally underestimate the value of having solid defense in baseball. Contrary to the "gorilla ball" threads, this isn't 1990s baseball. You have to play good defense. Helenihi made at least two plays that Hanover would have had a very difficult time with just tonight. Hanover's bat doesn't outweigh Helenihi's glove, so Helenihi starts.

Hanover doesnt go into 0 for the century slumps. Helenihi is a bad hitter who masks deficiencies by occasaionally hitting a first pitch fast ball hard

For the bandwagon fans, Hanover started about 2/3 of the year at 3B. Helenihi just got the starting job back during the last game of the regionals. Hanover was hurt during the 1st week of Omaha, and he was not ready to play. He is healthy now, and he is much more of a threat to hit than Helenihi. I say go with Hanover.

But whatever Mainieri says will probably work out because he left Helenihi in to hit and pinch hit for Nola, who has been hitting well. It didn't cost us the game tonight, so what the heck.

Amazing how rantards will talk non stop shite about Mitchell, but God forbid you think helenihi needs to sit since he's the driving force behind the winning streak even though we won most of the games without his "gold glove"
