OSU was first choice, Bama was second.

ESPN doesn't care about this. It is their agenda to get a rematch.

I picked Okie State...knew that would be the case because I knew the numbers.
I think the loss to State should become less of a factor. This article from CBS presents another good one. The media may be coming up with a good counter to all the Bama homers.
I typically don't like to think hypothetically...but if you also look at Bama's resume, I think there is a possbility that Okie could match it if they played the same schedule. The SEC east is down this year, and I think Okie could prevail over Penn as well.
I know its a completely different situation too, but Okie's loss kinda reminds me of our 2007 loss to Kentucky.....although Kentucky in 07 is better than I-State now, I think its an example of a team getting a chance to play in the championship after taking a loss to an inferior team.
Bama may be the better team, but based on stats, resume and logic, Okie should be given the opportunity to play, IF they beat Oklahoma.

Looks like Bama figured out who they were. No way you could not pick B strictly by those numbers.

bama can only play the teams that are on their schedule.
isn't that boise state's argument every year?

Stopped at any poll based solely on Sagarin. Big 12 is overweighted in his system.

The question that should be asked as a follow up is: Who read the explanation for TOP20W and TOP40W PRIOR to submitting their vote? I think a brief glance at the table of data they provide gives the overwhelming, 80% currently, impression that Team B is overly qualified to be #2. Reading the explanation of TOP20W and TOP40W shows that "This is the number of wins each team has against a team currently ranked in the top 20 of the Sagarin rankings, which are used as part of the BCS formula." According to the computers, in this case 1/6th of the overall 1/3rd portion of BCS formula, we already knew who they think is number 2 with all the love the Big12 gets.
