Saban just hired an OC who was 3-31 as a head coach.

Which is wholly irrelevant since he wasn't hired to be Alabama's head coach.

You can be a terrible head coach and a fantastic coordinator.

Let me preface this by saying that Saban is the best CFB coach of all time. However, if Orgeron had made this same hire for OC, then this board would have been a cesspool of fools lamenting over the direction of the program. Thank God this board didn't exist at the level it does currently back in Saban's LSU days. He hated the "sky is falling" mentality displayed by the rantards. Can you imagine the melt on here after the UAB loss? Again, I wasn't a fan of the O hire, but acting like there isn't a major talent disparity between Bama and the rest of CFB (with the possible exception of Clemson) is disingenuous. Would Saban perform better - yes. I still think we lose all three games though.

O is always the victim of circumstance, without any agency of his own.

That OC has been on Saban's staff since 2016 so he knows what he's doing. Head coaching doesn't go into the equation of picking an OC.

Umm coaching is just as important as talent . I can’t believe you think otherwise.

If you think coaching makes that much of a difference you probably have not been a part of any sports team.

Which is why there was minimal improvement at Alabama going from Mike Shula to Nick Saban.

Why can’t you people see that 10 frickin #1 classes in a row could be coached by a chimp and still win 10 games a year. College Football championships are won on national signing day!!!! Saban knows this and that’s where he directs all of his resources.

Joe Alleva hired a HEAD coach that was 3-21 in SEC games.

Saban's defenses have routinely been torched by elite QBs. He would have no answer for Tua and those WRs. Hunter Renfro looked like a NFL pro slot receiver with Watson throwing him the ball against Saban's best secondary.

Saban immediately fires E, Meatball, Sullivan, Robinson, and Joseph. He gets the boosters and AD on board and we fork out money for Briles, Henry, Frank Wilson and perhaps O at D line. He puts the fear of God into the damn compliance department. He un-bags the Amite bag man. He gets our stipend raised to equal/surpass bamas. He loses to Bama this year but destroys Florida and A&M. He brings in the #2 class (including Sophsher) and he repeats, ironing out any deficiency he sees. He's not a magician folks. He sees a weakness he fixes it. We see a weakness we ignore it or just call it a strength. And say we'll do better next time.

You can not beat a team that recruits better players every year by better coaching, That is what I am saying. I said it is not as important as you think if the other team has better players.

Bama went 12-0 in the regular season his second year. His only losses came to eventual national champ Florida and undefeated Utah. In his third they went undeafted for the entire season and won a national championship. That doesn't have shite to do with a bunch of top classes.

When will you idiots learn.
