His play at the end of the season speeded up Howard’s departure

I think this was in the works well before the SECG, which is one reason why Nuss was so involved in the gameplan

What level melt does this board have if Nuss transfer after spring? I'm going with Joe McKnight levels.

That would at least be deserving of a melt. Howard, nah.

I'm just trolling. I doubt he'd ever do it just funny to think about. I think if it ever even came to that BK would guarantee him PT with JD in a 2 QB system which he ran in Purdue game.

Howard probably wanted guarantees he couldn't give. You can to Nuss because you can already see how he operates the offense. He still needs development of course, but he's not far off from being right there at QB development.

Howard transferring should calm some of the people on the Nuss bus since he is the presumptive starter for 2024. Although Rick Collins will have something to say about that and maybe Colin Hurley.

Not only that, but now makes sense & good he sat out of last year's bowl game to keep another year of eligibility.

The only chance Nuss transfers is if we bring in a transfer so good or more of a runner that he gets passed up or feels BK favors his style.

Only time will tell. Needs consistent playing time to honestly be able to state this.

It is also not a given that he remains at LSU after the Spring either.

Agree that the thought of transferring was there since the week after the SECCG. Everyone is so certain though that Nuss would never leave. We had guys transfer out this year that would have been starters or seen extensive playing time next year. Nothing is shocking any longer in CFB. The transfer rules, portal, and NIL have changed the entire landscape.

Dont see it happening. I think he has shown he wants to be here. Dude could have left when everyone assume Walker was the heir apparent.

Also it is on BK to let him know he has a role next season. Personally I like having him get real experience next year with JD still the starter. And with Daniels a senior he has no leverage to bitch about sharing time.

Finally I think it makes sense to have a second QB option. Some days either due to who is hot or due to matchups we may want to give Nuss more reps.

If Nuss can prove he can become a a bit of a scrambler, he will actually become an even better passer! He doesn't have to be a "running QB" to succeed in the Tigers offense.

That would be kind of inexplicable considering he will be vying for playing time & got a boatload of snaps for a QB2 this year with 2yrs of post-Daniels eligibility.

As of right now he has a shot to be the guy for 2023. And is 100% the guy for 2024.

Only way that happens is if we take another upperclassman transfer. Don’t see it.

It may have been in the works in Walker’s head and amongst his family but the coaching staff did not have any idea he was transferring.
