Well, stats don't tell everything.

What's your predictions for the passing game next year? Based on recent play.

You're right. They don't.

I am cautiously optimistic that it will be improved over this year based on experience of those involved.

I still don't have much faith in E.

Well some of us saw enough to believe next year will be special. I like how the passing game looked of late.

We definitely improved at the end of the year.

In our last 4 real games (excluding Rice), Burrow was 80 for 129 (62%) for 1,054 yards with 9 TDs and 2 INTs.

Extrapolated out over the course of a 12 game season, that's:

62% cmpl %
3162 yards
27 TDs
6 INTs

I don't cherry pick stats to make a point. It also doesn't hurt that LSU played 2 teams that combined for 4 wins in that stretch. The 3 teams ranked around 100 in passing defense didn't hurt much either.

That speaks more to the current ILB talent we have on the roster than it does to Alexander.

and that’s my point. We now have sufficient top end talent & depth. There was a gap last year when you had to start Alexander & everyone behind him were basically freshmen. That is poor roster construction.

I’m going to remember this conversation next time I have to hear about lowered standards & expectations. Cause man if you think that is good enough, you don’t need to preach to anyone about lowered anything

Here's a sportsnation article ranking the LB units in the SEC for 2017. LSU came in at #3.

Well yea they include Arden Key in that group, but rickdaddy has already categorized him as a DL in this exercise. Even so we know his story last year. It only exposed our lack of depth & poor roster construction there in the long run when he went down last year.

What are your offensive predictions for next year?

You straight up called our offensive talent overrated and average at best. Why are you excited about returning overrated players?

Saying next year will be good isn't the same thing as saying 2018 was improved over 2017. One of them is agreeable, the other is flat out untrue.

Separate your two sentiments Roger.

I saw the WRs improve throughout the season, saw Burrow improve.

We had roughly 2900 passing yards this year, I expect 3200 next year. Improved running game will help a lot

He is doing what got miles fired. He is not beating bama, losing to 2 inferior teams and has a shite offense. The same thing you bashed.

no he isn't. You left off the fact that we finished in the top 10 and won a New Years 6 Bowl game. When is the last time Miles did that? (2011).
You left off the fact that those 2 losses were very close games that could have gone either way.

You left off the fact that the team has gone 24-9 (14-7 in SEC play) since Orgeron taking over in 2016

While under coach Miles the team went 19-10 (10-8 in SEC play) in his last 2 plus years

So yes, Miles had fallen off, and yes, Orgeron is picking us back up.

Things are looking better and there are reasons for optimism. If you don't see it, it is because you choose not to.

I tend to focus on facts. When the facts say something isn't better, I say something isn't better.

Yeah its a shame miles didnt get top 10 finishes for 3 loss seasons.

Just admit you and your ilk are massive hypocrites.

We still lose to bama.
We still lose to 2 other inferior teams.
We still suck on offense and its scheme driven.
The only difference is now we cant even run the ball on shite teams.

Stop being a hypocrite because this year 3 losses gets you top 10.

Which two? The four games I'm talking about are Alabama, Arkansas, A&M, and UCF.

Which 3? The stats are pulled from our game against Bama (33), Arkansas (88), A&M (99), and UCF (57).

Bama wasn't played in the final 3rd of the season. Rice was.
