Not necessarily advocating for Sloan to be brought back and I know the general sense is CBK got more involved these last few weeks.

But whatever it was, play calling got noticeably better! Been a problem all season, maybe we turned a little corner in that respect??

frick that. Sloan can’t even manage to get a play in on time to keep us from burning all our timeouts in the 1st quarter.

Sloan has ZERO business being the OC at the LSU level.

Totally agree. Numerous new plays and formations. And by god we didn’t run it every 2 nd and 10.

I agree, plus I saw a few new wrinkles.
Our O was really wide open last night and we kept OU off balance.

The truth about play calling is you can't actually judge playcalling unless you have the all 22, know the plays and know the players assignments. The rants breakdown of playcalling is ..... did the play get decent yards= good playcalling
Did the play not get adequate yards= bad play calling.

It only takes one player missing an assignment to frick up the best play called but our fan base is littered with football ignorant fans that couldn't tell you the numbers on the route tree or where the techniques line up on the dline without Google.

A marginal running game improved the play calling.

The problem is that we have the wrong personnel in at critical short yardage downs even when coming out of a timeout

Do you really believe you know what's the best personnel over a hc that knows the players strengths better than you?
Come on brother.

2 of the 3 td’s were bombs. We’re still settling for too many field goals in the red zone. I’m more encouraged with Nuss running some and stepping up in the pocket though.

I think BK got involved with play calling. He started carrying a play sheet with him since Florida. Don't understand what took him so long. Offense is his specialty.

It's the lack of push we get from interior oline.... its really hard to run in the red zone when your oline is getting pushed back like they are. It's easier to mask when all the defense isn't so close to the Los.

If Sloan is retained we need a redzone specialist or some type of consultant for short-medium must have downs.

The play calling seemed better because we ran the ball better and didn’t have to make Nuss do everything.

Yeah that’s what I saw too. Would’ve liked to have seen that back in October.

I have been saying this the last couple of weeks now. In that 3 game skid the QB reads just didnt add up like we were pressing too hard or something. You never know how good the play could have been if the QB, RBs, and receivers dont make the correct reads.

The rant just sees a bad play and immediately says it's playcalling.

I haven’t noticed much difference in play calling, I see kids making plays.

Nuss looks for that check down now and that’s changed everthing .

He’s right in pretty much all he said here.
We can all agree that the offense has looked anemic much of the year, especially in red zone. That said, it’s pretty hard to tell on TV what the call was designed to accomplish vs what it actually accomplished.

Only took him 11 and a half games.

But yes, it finally improved and yesterday was the first game where it looked like we had an actual plan.

Hes a moron. He acts like he didn't coach during the losses. USC can't beat their own scout team, yet he was outcoached.
Hes a self serving a-hole who runs his mouth in threatening ways, yet no one fears his sorry arse
