think the actual answer here is that it is, in fact, above their season average, though a tad lower than the last couple performances.

It's lower than their NQS,

Yes, but the NQS isn’t their average.

I think all the 1 seeds had to start on floor for regionals. Not sure how it goes Saturday.

All number one seeds begin on floor for regional semis, beam for regional finals. At nationals, the top seed of each semifinal starts on vault and ends on floor for the semis then starts on bars and ends on vault in the finals (I believe)

Sucks that the Ark Gymnast blew her knee out. Barring any major falls or injuries, we should cruise to nationals.

Is there an update on Frankie Price? Did they say what happened?

I know, but are we really being that meticulous over their average? I can do the math and issue a full retraction if necessary.

When they interviewed the ARk coach she just said "lower body injury" but then she started tearing up. IMHO At the very least, Price will be out for Saturday and probably nationals if Ark makes it. It looked really bad.

Thanks. She looked to be in a lot of pain. And obviously did not attempt to stand. But that was all I could tell. I felt bad for the Kent State gymnast that had to go next.

I hate to body shame, but some of those Ark gymnast, especially Joscelyn Roberson, were THICK. Most gymnast even at the college level have a leaner body type

Landing with extra weight has to be hard on all your joints. No matter you level of fitness. My niece was a high level gymnast, when an elbow injury took her out permanently, she shot up several inches. At 16 years old. And she is very very thin. I have to assume the constant impact on her joints since a very young age delayed her growth spurt.

The shorter girls almost always look like that because of their height. It’s just solid muscle.

She has one of the odder body shapes I've seen in elite gymnastics. Not trying to be mean but she is pretty mcuh an athletic midget. She's a great gymnast though for sure.

Judging was pretty generous last night imo (for this seasons standards) outside of the beam. They killed it on the beam and it seems like the judges were just content on giving a 9.9 no matter what the routine was.

Really wish Konnor was on floor.

There are few things that frustrate me more than college gymnastics judging, but it is so much better in the post season when they jump to more judges. Really wish they would go to three judges during the regular season. All year judges were having to go over scores with each other because they were a tenth or more off on their scores.

Overall I think last night was judged pretty fair. I'd say overscored slightly on vault and underscored on beam so it was about a wash. Very good start.

I've said it pretty much all year but this team is better than last years. And I honestly I don't think we've hit our peak.

I was largely being facetious…but it is in fact not worse than their average - which is why I thought people might be downvoting you (of note, I don’t really get up or downvoting in any event, so it wasn’t me)

The refs last night were very hard and their scores were low for everyone..

It didn't really bother me at first, I just thought maybe it was completely off about something and completely oblivious. Then I got downvoted on the next post with still no real explanation. After that I pretty much just gave up. If I pissed people off but they can't speak up, that's not really my problem.
