Yes it does. Greedy quit the team immediately with a bowl game still to play and appeared thankless. We all resented that behavior from him.

If Devin white acts like its this big emotional decision bc he loves LSU so damn much, ppl will react much less negatively.. i know I will.

Quite frankly, people should act negatively when a player quits the team before the bowl game. That shite sucks and is toxic - yet people here DEFEND them doing it. Virtue Signalling.

Nobody worth a shite would ever hold it against DW for leaving now, regardless if he announces it today or during the post game presser. This isn't softening the blow - its genuine confliction.

He needs to decide what his priorities are and make the best decision for himself. All the randos on here can say "he should do x," or "he should do y," but it's his decision.

If he stays I'll be thrilled. If he goes, I won't view him any differently and will respect his decision.

That's all we can do as fans.

If he's saying that he is "torn" it means that he is going to enter the draft. He's softening the blow.

Softening the blow would have been to tell everyone he’s leaving after the bowl game. Dragging it out and dropping hints that he may stay along the way only to announce a couple days before the deadline, tgat he’s leaving, would be the opposite of softening the blow. Fwiw I don’t think any of that is his intention. He is probably genuinely torn.

Exactly....frick Greedy for quitting the team first off and then talking shite about the offense or whatever he was doing.

I personally want him back...won't be mad if he goes because he's handled the situation with class....but want him back.

I think he really is undecided.
I support him either way, but if he stays, its because he is thinking with his heart, instead of his brains.

I hope Devin does what he feels is right for him. If he stays, I’ll be elated. If he goes pro, I’ll be thankful that he was LSU tiger and hope has long successful career in the NFL.

Everyone recognizes how hot a sports story this is, TD has more than proven that. Yet not a peep in the news.

we'll see. going in to 2016 there was a lot of fanfare for returning seniors. you don't know until the season starts for sure.

Totally agree with you and I know we say this every year, but were legit a few bounces away from being a 1 loss team in 2016.

-In FG range to win vs Wisco. Harris throws pick to end game.

-We beat Auburn and got robbed.

-Blew the Florida game in in our pants on our own goal line.

We had the talent to do it. Just didn't execute and get it done.

So you're under the impression the fanbase would have been mad at DW if he announced he was leaving the day after the bowl game?

I think the defense would be fine without Devin White the player. However, Devin White the leader is what the whole team needs to be special.

Why hope he goes?

My goodness if we are hoping,
I hope he stays and
I hope he has the best senior season and
I hope we win it all and
I hope he enjoys it all..
then I hope he goes pro.

I wonder if Clemson fans hoped all their great Seniors had gone pro too?

Ha-ha-ha!

Softening the blow????

Devin White is concerned with what DEVIN WHITE wants to do. His heart is obviously at LSU but there is the money concern. The LAST thing on his mind is
"softening the blow" to the fan base.

Personally, I would think he takes the insurance policy for $10,000,000 & comes back but who knows. Either way I seriously doubt the fans are even a concern.

Exactly. We can all say what we would do personally, but it's his personal choice. It's possible to care more about your school and winning a national title than money. It just depends on what he values more. I won't fault him either way.

I think DW is in a unique position where he can reasonably roll the dice in staying and feel pretty good about his decision

Insurance usually doesn’t pay much out but he can still take out a plan and get something out of it for the worst case. Apparently his family has some money so he’s not hurting for the immediate millions and can wait a year for them.

He can build on his legacy at LSU and we are in a very good spot as a program where we can legitimately say we have a shot at the title next year with him on board.

Whatever decision he makes is the right one; I don’t feel like there is a wrong choice here. I do hope he stays though and brings home some hardware
