I don’t care if it’s first year or not. Zero fire on the sidelines Johnny Jones last team who went 2-16 was better than this product

Nah that team was probably the worst team I’ve seen and i remember Dale’s last and Brady’s first couple of teams
Trent Johnson’s 2009-11 teams were pretty awful tho

Exactly. He gets a pass this year with what was brought to him. I believe in his coaching just needs the ingredients for it. Patience Tigers fans

We’re a baseball and football school. We’re also about to be on probation. This was always going to be a long term rebuild, yelling at the sky for a “better” coach than McMahon is just that.

I think some of our fans are disillusioned because of what Mulkey and Kelly were able to do in their first years. I had no expectations with what MM had to deal with when he got here. Even after that 11-1 start in the OOC I knew SEC play wasn't going to be pretty, all those close games against scrubs should have tipped you off. The Arkansas game did give me a brief respite of hope but look at Arkansas now, doesn't quite look so good.
I will admit though, MM did not have the national prestige and pedigree that Kelly or Mulkey had in their first years, that's why they were able to do what they did in their first years despite what they walked into. I still have some doubts about MM because he's coming from Murray which doesn't have the best track record of sending coaches to major jobs. But I will firmly wait til next year and/or the next before I start calling for his head, absent any off the court scandals or something. He deserves time to be allowed to build something, not sure what you were expecting this year frankly.

See the problem is he had rope for this year, his issue is he can’t recruit. Look at the incoming class for next year it’s Ohio valley level with no hope for a big name.
He is trying to pull a Murray state here and that doesn’t work.
Also at no point in Wades tenure did we ever look this bad. Even in year 1 you could see the team compete. MM is flirting with a 1-17 or 2-16 record.

Look, we can keep McMahon. I don’t care about this year’s team. Until lsu gets serious with men’s basketball, it’s a dead sport to me.

You have to give him a season or two but get some players that actually can shoot a basketball....Miller and he is coming off ACL so I give him another year but hire a shooting coach...I will still watch them...

He could but I’m not sure he can even recruit a transfer. He is sucking wind at normal recruiting.
It’s probably a combo of he is a boring individual and LSU can’t do anything worth while to market bball to make it attractive.
If we look at all the coaches having success in the current sec it’s people that have some emotion and can recruit. MM is about as exciting as Trent johnson was and recruits like him.

Basketball should only take to year 2 to turn around. Wade did it with a team that won 2 sec games. Oats has done it, Pearl did it year 1 at UT. Cal and Muss. All coaches that have are the current best in the sec.
If he can’t do it next year the chances he amounts to shite go down drastically, he fails in year 3 and it’s done.
Currently he has a piss poor class coming in. So looking like more of the same in year 2.
