They beat themselves.

As always with LSU's opponents.

Offense....Defense....Special Teams. It all matters! Most people (especially the talking heads on TV) just look at Offensive stats....CLM says...WRONG! In this offense we wear people out and control the game, especially late. It's a formula for winning, not a formula for creating stats. Geaux Tigers! Les Miles!

That is true unless you ask BAMA fans about the 2010 Bowl.

They still claim that if you don't count the second half that they were the better team.

Stats are like bikinis, they reveal a lot and they coverup other "things"

We've certainly proven that if you give the other team ample opportunity to frick themselves, they will do it

However, the 1st half showed that LSU is beatable. The LSU corners play aggressive since they have pressure from the front 4 usually; if you can do something (rolling out etc) to buy a little more time, then the WRs can do double moves and the LSU guys bite a lot.

I'm just not sure how many teams can really make this work this year

If the games were 30 minutes, we might drop one. Unbeatable for 60 minutes, hence the 13-0 record.

Dawgs got a shot in, they did scare me a bit in the first quarter, but once you got your feet under you, that game was over....

I love this thread. I really do.

I'm going to add this link in my "Know Your Place" thread, if you don't mind.

Total plays UGA 85 LSU 48

I blame it on the following people
- TM7: he shortened the field for the offense. They had only so many yards to so. In one instance he scored and left no yards/plays for offense. Are all TM plays are part of UGA plays (punts)?
- Mo: He took it to the house, which meant the ball was given back to UGA. Zero offensive plays.
- Blue: Long gains meant lesser number of plays.
- Hilliard: see Blue
- Wing: Long punts means chance for more plays for UGA

LSU players are to blame for limiting LSU's snaps.

gawd, this is starting to sound like a CPA convention with all the number crunching....

that being said....add the two honey badger punt returns in and LSU wins the offensive yardage battle

Our defense and special teams scored more than UGA.

Our defense and special teams are a major reason that we destroy teams.

Exactly. People that bring up stats to justify things are clearly ignorant.

I'm also sick of hearing bad defenses are when those teams have the top offenses.. Stats don't do their team any justice.

UGA had 19 first downs... LSU 13

But here is 1 stat that does seem to matter in the outcome of games....

UGA had 3 turnovers.... LSU had 0!

And LSU had 14 points off two of those turnovers.... that alone was a enough to win.

I would like to see more offense from LSU --- but it just doesn't matter.... LSU dominated this game from the point Honey Badger returned the punt for TD on.... UGA did squat after that point.

UGA had all the emotion and nothing to lose at the beginning... they gambled and won a few times... but once the intial adrenaline wore off.... LSU dominated... end story.
