Maybe I’m just hurt, but it would have made me queasy transferring to Bama in undergrad or even applying to grad school there.

How do these players justify it emotionally/morally? Am I just a giant pussy?

Because for the players in college sports, or professional too, they don't hold the same fanaticism compared to the 45 year old electrician in Baton Rouge.

Sports aren't the escape for them, it's their business of choice.

Not to say they aren't always disloyal to a school, but the dynamics are completely different. And that's ok.

My god.....bring back bullying.
Hurt because a kid is going from LSU to another school to play football? A kid you don't even know?

It's just business.

If I got accepted into the top program at the top college for my area of study, I would go, born-into-allegiances be damned.

It's not unreasonable.

I mean, I hate to see it. But I get it.

and that's a big part of the problem, only a fraction of these guys ever make it to the league, and even a smaller fraction of those make life changing money yet they all think they are the next number one pick

Don't know if you've noticed but Bama's won more than a few titles recently. They have recruiting on easy mode, and now they've extended recruiting to not just HS kids, but other college teams rosters. What a brilliant idea right?

Literally every sane person would.

If Bama offered the OP "frick you" money in whatever his profession is, he'd be an idiot to not take it.

Just can’t wrap my head around it. Money be damned. If you’re gonna be a first/second round pick anyway, why become an enemy to your state/university?

I'm not hurt, I'm angry. Less at the players, as somebody said, they're mercenaries, and I don't have any illusions about most of them loving LSU like we do. I'm mostly angry at the people in charge who allowed this to happen, when it was obvious it would turn into the shitshow it has become.

You can't imagine another party offering you a million dollars to leave your current party?

See I had the complete opposite mindset.

I don’t know how to say this without sounding like a pompous titmouse, but I could have gotten in to a lot of higher-ranked schools. I just know I would have always regretted not going to LSU and would have rather gone to Northwestern State than any other SEC school.

everybody has dreams, by the time you get to that level of whatever it is you're doing you should begin to develop a little bit of a realistic mindset towards the future

Because none of that shite matters once college is over, especially for a dude who had no prior connection to LSU or Louisiana prior to the past two years.

the hell it doesn't you stay at home and be a loyal Tiger, and unless you are a total tool, doors are wide open with opportunities
