My father-in-law who is from Louisiana was at my house when LSU and Rice were playing the Super. ESPN was showing some typical Tiger fans in the stands wearing Mardi Gras beads and holding "Geaux Tigers" signs. Just to piss him off I sarcastically asked him what "Go-X Tigers" meant. He raised up in his chair and proceeded to tell me in a very matter of fact tone that "Geaux" is the French word for "Go". The funny thing was he actually believed it.

That's OK. We all know what separates a coonass from a jackass. The Sabine River.

Horn fan was leaving the hotel by the side door. Sign said "Keep door closed", so he just stood there. Might still be there for all I know.

I had a friend whose family was from LA that would wear a shirt that had "geaux tigers" on it every once in a while. Whenever she did, I'd always ask what does "gee-ox tigers" mean and she'd get pissed.

True story-- waiting for an elevator in Houston once this woman with a Texas t-shirt on (one of those cheap off brand ones you see at a convenience store) noticed the sign that said "Wet Floor".

So, she squatted down and oblidged.
