They looked good, and I like the fact that there is still a bit of sloppiness for them to shake off. They look like they're starting to come together, arent quite there yet, but eventually will be. When they are, they will be an exciting team to watch.
In other words, they made quite a few mistakes, but still won big. I'd have liked for them to play one more average opponent before heading to wvu, but we will see what they can do in two days.

yeah he had a lot of boneheaded plays but he absolutely owned otherwise
I still think this is Jones overcoaching him. Even on his post game interview he said he averaged 34 points a game last year but now he can just help create for other guys...Gray is better when he isnt trying to think about passing all the time and gets in his offensive game.

I love this team and can only hope they begin to jell
It's hard to watch this team tonight and believe they wont make it to the dance

Would love for SOS to do a preview or west virginia

The losses to ODU and Clemson do hurt, but we have a great chance to make up for that in a big way on Thursday. Playing like we did tonight, it'll be hard to keep us out of the dance.

Did anyone else notice Coach JJ and Robinson's extended conversation towards the end of the game? 2 minutes left, JJ tapped Bridgewater and somebody else on the shoulder, they hopped up and ran to the scorer's table. He did the same to Robinson, Robinson just sat there, didn't even look up. JJ walked back over to him, said quite a few words, and then Robinson walked ever so slowly (as to make a point) over to the scorer's table. Wasn't a good thing to watch for sure. Guess the freshman isn't liking being relegated to a "Shortess" type role....

That's disappointing to hear. Odo has outplayed Robinson and earned his time. Robinson needs to earn it back on the court, not by sulking.

Nice finish. Not usual. Ha. Hopefully UMass was a good team. We' ll have see what they do from now on. Although they beat Florida State at Florida State. That should mean something.

Newsflash Elbert: when you're getting outplayed by John Odo, you don't deserve playing time.

We have to find way to win in morgantown. We looked great tonight.

that's a game where a win does a lot more good than a loss does bad.
I think it could be season defining so to speak
eta: mainly because I think WVU will end up being a Big 12 contender, plus a national audience

Quick preview: They lead the nation in offensive rebounds per game and steals per game. Opponents actually shoot a higher FG% than WVU. The problem is that due to the steals and rebounds, WVU just takes a lot more shots than their opponents. LSU MUST take care of the basketball (Gray can't have 7 TOs again) and at least hold their own on the glass.

ON the agenda for tomorrow is a recap on this one and a preview of Weat Virginia. Recap will likely be home page only but I'll put the preview on the rant.

Hello LSU Basketball. You finally have a PG that can attack the basket. Yippee!

it's one thing to get replaced in the starting lineup, but Robinson is not even getting playing time now
Jones would rather play with 3 guards than bring in a backup center

quote:I think it's more that Jones just doesn't use his bench. He almost never uses a player for a few minutes at a time unless his hand is forced. So you are either a major player on the team or you don't play at all, which is frustrating to watch.

Too bad because this team has a lot of different pieces that could cause matchup problems for certain teams. But that seems to be his philosophy.

Last year we had a 10 man rotation.
We were constantly rotating in Morgan, Quarterman, Hammink, Shavon, and Odo. We're not using rotations right now because the freshman on the bench can't be counted on to give you good minutes yet. They will with time, but right now we'll probably only have a 7-8 man rotation, until Dominic Magee gets here.

I don't think Magee plays this year even if he comes here.
