Conversely, what did Mainieri see after LaMarche loaded the bases? How do you learn anything about the kid after that? His mechanics were for shite and he was all over the place and that was evident during the first AB. Conceding or not conceding the last walk issued by LaMarche didn't teach us shite, coaches or players.

Lastly, why in the blue frick do you need to "learn what happens" to a pitcher after he's walked three guys consecutively? I can tell you what everyone from the sharps in Vegas to Sister Tima the gypsy living in the single wide on the edge of town reading your palm and telling your fortune will predict.

Why does any coach need to "see how a player reacts" to walking three guys in a row? Who cares about the arms. McCune and Fury could've easily shut shite down.
