It's a lot harder to grip the ball in the rain...plus if you dry your hands it just dries them out

Try to grip a baseball and throw offspeed pitches in the rain. That last at bat the rain picked up and Gausman could not even grip the ball on his last few pitches. Should get a stoppage if it's changing the play.
