Just a note......
"A TAG is the action of a fielder in touching a base with his body while holding the
ball securely and firmly in his hand or glove; or touching a runner with the ball, or with his
hand or glove holding the ball, while holding the ball securely and firmly in his hand or
glove. It is not a tag, however, if simultaneously or immediately following his touching a
base or touching a runner, the fielder drops the ball. In establishing the validity of the tag,
the fielder shall hold the ball long enough to prove that he has complete control of the ball.
If the fielder has made a tag and drops the ball while in the act of making a throw
following the tag, the tag shall be adjudged to have been made."
So, Ibarra was out....
But a tag like that could not be made on the runner and be considered an out......ONLY when the tag was made on the base.

Well, if that's the case, Ross did technically tag that guy out.

go figure i was watching it online...
after the top 9 i thought "we got this" and went with my friends to the rocky horror picture show at delgado
on my way there i got the twitter text that Bama tied the game up
then i had to keep my phone in my pocket when the play started due to the glare possibly being a distraction to the performers
LSU finally won it at intermission of the play

Hilton Garden Inn, across the river in Council Bluff, Iowa. the first Mon. & Tues nights. Got tickets for both games Mon. & Tues. LSU ought to be in one of those games.

Broski, you must tag the RUNNER with the ball, you can tag the BASE with your foot, hand, hip, etc while holding the ball in the other hand.
The replay clearly showed Ross missed his head with the gloved ball, then took the ball out of the glove and tagged the runner again with the bare glove. However, I think that if the ump hadn't called out, Ross would have thrownd the ball to the pitcher covering home and he would have tagged the runner out.

Went to bed in the 13th
Glad things turned out well, and glad I missed the controversy.
