Don't be sad. We got this. JaCoCo can rest that hand with his fine arse girlfriend while we handle shite until regionals.

Doesn't sound like Mainieri is too concerned.

Should be noted that Mainieri said that JaCoby Jones "could have probably played tonight" but it wasn't necessary. #LSU

Mainieri did go on to say that he may even sit Jones through the SEC Tourney though, to ensure he is 100% for regionals. #LSU

These stats remind me of the 1998 team - hit 161 homers, most of them solo.

1998 Team was a monster

We were the best team in college baseball that year IMO.
Watching us lose 2 in a row against USC in Omaha was one of the worst sporting losses I've experienced in my life. It was pretty hard to take. We were damn good.

Def should have been 3 in a row

I'll never forget that 1998 team - we were tearing through the tournament, then it got cold and the wind started blowing in. The balls that were homeruns earlier in the tournament turned into long fly outs, and we lost two in a row and were eliminated. It still hurts - should have had a threepeat.

CPM figured he was sitting his best pitcher so he might as well sit his best hitter.

He really has, and that was a home game so I guess we won't get into how we still didn't like that move vs SC. Either way it doesn't matter (thank God).
The ump was atrocious all night for both teams. The inning with the bad ball on Katz's play to 1st could have gone either way. 1st with the Bregman would-be double play error, then the Katz play, then the last better had a swinging bunt which could have easily been a force at home had they been loaded, so who knows how that would have played out. Any runs in that inning would have been unearned anyway because there was 1 (almost 2) error(s).

My confidence in the Cune is wavering. Ole Miss gets the bat on the ball consistently. Hoping for 4 decent innings

He wasn't as bad in the start as it seemed that day, but based on his history, there is definitely some concern. If the offense can drop 2 again in the 1st and 7 total, I like our chances with the Cune. Give him a chance to settle in with a lead so he isn't pitching on the edge like every inning is a big tryout (which it really is). Although, maybe pitching a tight one could benefit the coaches and McCune more down the stretch so who F'ing knows

If missing that start was what Glenn needed to get on this current form, I'm fine with what transpired.

Ump was terrible both ways last night. That was some of the worst umpiring I've seen all season. Guy behind the plate must have been blind. Same with the guy at 1B.
Ole miss hit the ball well last night too. Just nothing for extra bases.
