The timing happened because the last SEC home series was finished, and the traveling list for Auburn, Hoover, Baton Rouge, Lafayette, and Omaha had to be set.

Exactly. Hopefully not Lafayette, but yeah.

Glenn must've been the cancer in the dugout.

I can't believe posters on this board who fancy themselves knowledgeable about LSU baseball don't know this happens almost every season. It's an end of year routine.
The routine is merely going through the motion. Everything was decided prior to that, and not always by the coach. I actually do know this to be true. The meeting happens of course. And everyone says the cliche lines. But usually, by then, the kid has decided he wants to be elsewhere or the coach has his own ways of sending signals. He's rarely straight forward about these things in the middle of the season.

I made mention of when he came out of the game at A&M no one slapped his hand. No one even looked at him. Guys didn't like him.

Glenn, that's a different story.

Well the story is that Mainieri told him that he wouldn't be on the travel or postseason roster so his season was effectively over. He is still considered to be on the team for this season.

It wasn't the middle of the season. All that was left was road games, and I'm guessing Dean and Dehart weren't on the travel squad.

Didn't Someone tweet Monday night that Glenn was going to Lipscomb? If so, that had been lined up already.

Good observation about nobody picking Glenn up when he left the game at A&M.

I know... I'm talking about having a one-on-one discussion with the player. Everyone knew by week 2 of the SEC that Dean wasn't sticking around. And that wasn't a coaches decision. I was a little surprised by DeHart, but it makes sense because he has so many ahead of him on the depth chart, and he struggled more than anyone in the fall.

Well yeah, his dad has some higher up position over there, but I bet you Mainieri initiated the idea of him transferring.

How did everyone know that Dean was transferring? Did he expect to start right away? Wasn't his brother a pitcher his freshman year? Why give up so early?

I wonder if teammates told Coach Mainieri that they were done with Glenn?

Seriously?

It was about playing time. Look at this team next year and where he plays. He doesn't jump anyone. He's not giving up; if anything, he's putting himself in a position to be successful.

Apparently they do, which would be one of the worst things to do to a team going into the postseason.
Is that why LSU has not had any success in the post season since Mainieri has been here?

Oh, wait.......

Pretty sure the fact that he was always the last guy off the bench during those early blow outs and never on the travel roster made him a prime candidate.

Ummm no.

He was recruited as a pitcher but that never happened. He led LSU in hitting his freshman season.

Dakota was hear as a courtesy to his brother. He really did himself a disservice by coming here.

There may have been speculation, but as for outright knowing by the second SEC series? I'm not sure that's accurate. Any kid can get hot. Just look at Zardon.

Why did Coach bring him in to pitch on Sunday at A&M in a "must win" game if he was getting ready to run him off because he had no confidence in him?

So what are we all arguing? Two kids that were never going to see the field transferred, and one malcontent got an early release. What's the argument?
