If& that's a big if Jim Harbough were to be fired for another dismal season at Michigan does the AD hire the Mad Hatter? I know most of the posters could care less about Michigan football but some like me find Les Miles an interesting character & coach. After watching the Kansas-Texas game I'm starting to believe he has finally evolved to modern day football.

Why would they hire a coach that is guaranteed to have the same issues as the current HC?

Let me get this straight.....

After watching Miles for 10 years @ LSU and a few games at Kansas suddenly you think he's evolved.

Need a bridge? Cheap?

I was under the impression that the top brass at Michigan aren't overly fond of Miles, or at least they weren't in the past.

Doesn't that piss you off just a little? Knowing that he wasted so much talent while at LSU, only now to finally implement a non-stone age offense at Kansas?

Guess I didn't see the Texas Game. Kansas should have won.

You really think Harbough is a better coach than Les, he's never beaten Ohio State ever, Led did.

I did not but I'm going to need a bigger sample size than 1 game in 11 years.

Miles is running the spread out of necessity. I would bet just about anything he would go back to his old offense if he thought he had the offensive line to pull it off. He just knows he doesn’t have the personnel to do it right now. Put him somewhere like Michigan where he can get players and I guarantee he would go right back to it. He honestly believes it’s the best way. He actually stated on national TV that he did that against Bama because he felt like you had to attack then where they’re the strongest..... think about that for a minute. There is no way Michigan would hire that guy and if they were going to they would have done it when everyone still thought he was a good coach after 2006-2008.

Nah he's too old at this point. I think someone like a P.J. Fleck would be a great hire for them.

I remember that. Rather than try to exploit your opponent's weakness, you attack their strength instead.

Don't totally agree, if miles were to win 5 or 6 games he might get a phone call. Michigan is desperate for anyone to beat the Ohio State & I would bet Miles could within 3 yrs. He is pretty damn lucky at times.

Jim Harbaugh was a bad call away from winning a super bowl, he took a 49ers franchise that had not had a winning season in a decade went 13-3 in year 1 and went to the NFC title game his first 3 seasons. He turned Stanford, another program that hadn’t won in a decade into a national power and was the first coach to ever win 11 games at Stanford. Michigan won more than 9 games once in the decade before Harbaugh arrived and since he’s been there they’ve won 10 games in 3 of 4 seasons. He’s also developed QBs like Andrew Luck, Alex Smith and turned Rich Gannon into an MVP developing his game as Oakland’s QB coach. He even turned Colin Keapernick into an above average NFL QB. Les Miles greatest achievement is being the only coach to ever win a National Title with 2 losses. He brought LSU from an absolute elite program to middle of the pack SEC west team and is known not only for his offensive inadequacies but his elementary failures at simple procedural and clock management issues as well as being the only coach ever to be shut out in a national title game. Comparing Les Miles to Jim Harbaugh is like comparing Jordan Jefferson to Dan Marino, it’s insane.

Miles will never and has never been pursued by Michigan to be their HC. Harbaugh is fine and will be fine. When Urbans recruiting influence is gone from Ohio State Harbaugh will control the Big-10 unless he grows impatient and bails.
