Fun Offseason Topic: What is the first LSU football season you remember?

Mine was the 2001 season.
I was born in 1991 so I was 10 years old at the time.
I watched Rohan throw to Reed and Toefield and Davis running the rock.
I remember watching the SEC Championship where Mauck came in and led us to victory.
I remember winning the Sugar bowl and being SO PROUD to be a tiger fan.
I was an LSU fan before that season but that was the first year that I watched the games and knew the players and felt the emotions that come along with being a fan.
What about yall?

My first memory of an actual LSU football game itself, is LSU/UF 1997. Great first memory.
I had been to games before that, but I was young. My memories are of the band, tailgaiting, etc. Those things were usually better than the actual games at that time.

1959. Remember listening to the Billy Cannon touchdown run in my parents room on the radio. I was 8 years old.

You can't really pick a better starting point.

Born in 1994, and the first season I remember is the 2001 season. I just remember how in shock my family was that we won the SEC and then the Sugar bowl over Illinois. They couldn't believe it. I remember watching Rohan Davey sling it all over the field. So I pretty much only have memories of LSU football being successful. This decline has been hard for me to say the least.

2001 is the first that I really became a huge fan (born in 90). That was a fun time

The funny thing is that we are probably at about the same spot now that were in in 2001 from a team talent/national opinion point of view.
The difference is that in 2001 we were trending up and everything looked promising and now we are on the decline and everything looks murky at best.

Born in '95. First full season I remember was 2002. But my earliest memory of a game was the peach bowl against GT in 2000 bc I was there.

Early 80s team that went to the Orange Bowl. Think LSU essentially clinched the orange bowl bid by beating FSU and oranges were thrown all over the field.

2001 as well.
The rescheduled game against Auburn was my first SEC game. I was 8, but I still remember the Auburn kicker attempting field goals at halftime while the golden band marched through him

1984, the year Stovall was let go. A couple of reporters were interviewing Jerry right after he was fired just outside the Athletic/Ticket Office of Tiger Stadium. Directly above them, we were yelling "We love you, Jerry" out the windows from our third floor North Stadium dorm room.

The first season I remember vividly was 87. I was 13 at the time. My 8th grade team went up to play U-High’s squad, and we watched LSU practice before we played. Hodson, Andolsek, Wendall Davis and a few others came over and spoke with with us. Dave Browndyke gave me a wrist band.
Remember watching a game or two on the old “Tigervision” pay per view, and the Gator Bowl.

Went to a game when Herb Tyler was QB. First one I really remember was 2000 I believe for the replay game against bama. Fell in love seeing the eye of tiger mid field
