Let's just hope whatever the answer is, it doesn't drag out. Better to know ASAP either way.

They said that he's been drug tested over 30 times and has passed all of them since then so just reinstate the kid

From everything that's been written, this hearing is it. For better or worse we'll know that day.

Fingers crossed for the kid, but I'm not going to expect the NCAA to come to a logical conclusion. Particularly when he did break a rule that is clearly written, no matter how ridiculous the punishment is.

It'd be nice if it was that simple, and it's great that he's clean, but that's not what got him in this mess. If he'd only tested positive, he'd be good to go this fall, I think. Trying to cheat the test is the issue here.

He'll have like 3 weeks to practice before Miami.

Timing of the hearing has no bearing on that. He has been a full go in practice and will continue to be from the very beginning of Fall camp. The only positive to gain on timing is if he does get reinstated for Miami, then the coaches and he will know if he is a part of game plan or not.

Well, how you practice probably has a lot to do with whether or not you can expect to actually play.

He has been on the team and practicing during the entire suspension, hasn't he?

Yes, he has. Matt just mentioned that on AFR.

Interesting take here. I guess by that logic, then whoever ends up as 4th on the depth chart in spots like QB or RB, etc. should probably take it easy in practice since they won’t have much expectation of ever playing.

The guy is (presumably) a competitor. People who are true competitors, and who you want playing on your team, do not (or should not) ease up or practice differently just because they know or believe they may not play. They continue to practice hard in anticipation of the day their number is finally called and they do it to also make their teammates better.

Yes. Suspended players can remain on scholarship, go to classes, practice, etc. Everything but play in games.

He’s been involved in every aspect of preparation with the team. If he’s cleared, why wouldn’t he?
