If you don’t understand the difference then you never will.

An advantage that is significantly offset by the lack of actual game experience by LSU's entirely new staff, multiple players including two freshmen O-linemen, several transfer players on defense and a transfer quarterback.

This. Everything was new to last years team, routines, lodging, logistics of getting plays in, familiarity with teammates in a game time situation. Sure BK did all he could to pull it together. But I will go out on a limb and say we will see a much different product put on the field this evening. I just have this confidence about BK’s attention to detail we lacked in the last few coaches. They say it’s a game of inches if so I want the coach that pays attention to detail that gets those hidden yards, slight advantages where they are available etc.

I don’t think we have all the special teams frick ups that ultimately cost the game if we had a week zero game

Those didn’t really end until after the Tennessee game though, so I disagree

Yes that has been brought up many times.

Yes. This was brought up many, many times.

In my opinion, getting a game under your belt is much more valuable than a team getting game film against you against a cupcake...especially with an entirely new coaching staff.

Y’all didn’t show anything in that week 0 game that mattered.

You improve the most game 1 to game 2.

It was a huge advantage and anyone with half a brain can see that.

It gave FSU the advantage of playing a live game ahead of the game with the Tigers. That was the first live game for LSU and a totally rebuilt team. The Tigers held their own even with their miscues and turnovers. This is not the case for either team this year.

“Game Film” isn’t shite. 100% of coaches would rather a full game at game speed than some bullshite game film.

I’ve just come to say after FSU last year and UCLA in 2021 and Va Tech in 2002; why in God’s Green Earth do we , LSU, not stipulate these things in the game contract!

but the point is BOTH teams had advantages and both teams had disadvantages

Any advantage LSU may have had was vastly outweighed by the advantage FSU had, and any other take is laughablt wrong.

I can assure you that their week zero game was with a limited playbook. Getting game experience and polishing the game flow makes for a much greater advantage than being able to watch film on another team’s preseason scrimmage. They also had film of themselves. So they could hone in on the technical things that they needed to improve.

So the advantages work both ways. I call it a wash

You can control what you put on film. So not really.
