haters gotta hate.... typical rant.

haters either have no compassion.
it is a sign of immaturity.

please note this time in your life for when the karma comes back and levels the field. you will loose big and wonder why no one has compassion for you.

karma does work.

I bet a lot of you are glad you don't have to make a certain score on the Wonderlic to post here, Jesus. The point is not whether or not these people need financial support. The point is it's a charity fund of interest to the Lsu family. If you're not going to give money, here's an idea... say nothing. Don't try to persuade others to be useless like yourself. The fact is the people posting all this, "Donate elsewhere sh1t" aren't going to donate elsewhere, so just don't say it.

There's a petition in place already for a traffic light in the spot where it happened, my friend's names are on it, the mayor's name is on it, they don't need money for that, they need DOTD to vary from a prelim traffic study. The truth is no one on here knows what that family needs right now. I bet the last thing they feel like doing is hitting up their rich uncle for money. I'm not saying they need the fund, and I'm not saying they don't. But deciding for them and enciting other to do the same is low.

Wow, no one knows the situation of these girls who just lost their mom. If the dad is not around or not involved they have no one.

Maybe a lot of LSU fans and people were offering things through Miles and this was a way for that to be steered to the girls instead.

I'm ashamed to be a Tiger fan reading these posts.
Obviously his sister was working and earning her own way since she was leaving a work meeting that day when she lost her life. She wasn't there looking for handouts from Miles.

Agree with everything you say. And if you can't tell, my post was sarcasm to Rouge's comment that a junior in high school should be able to take care of herself.

FWIW, I also live in Sugar Mill and my name is on that petition as well. I have even contacted DOTD and our state representatives. We can't accept "no" as an answer.

Didn't read the thread, but that fund is a greedy fricking idea!

There uncle shits hundred dollar bills! He can put $100, 00 for each in an investment for when they are older and not even know the money is gone from his account.

The only question people are asking is whether you would donate if this wasn't Miles' sister or publicized by LSU.

How many of you have donated to Jeanne Leiby's family, who also died in a car wreck this past week. She was the Editor of LSU Southern Review. She seemed more connected to the University and I don't hear any hoopla from the good Catholics about that.

Did any of you who felt this was "a bit odd" stop to think that this fund/account that has been set up for Miles' sister IS NOT ABOUT MONEY but that it is more something that friends/fans of the family can do to to show their support/prayers and condolences for what a terrible shock to the family this has been?
It is more of a "right thing to do." It's the principle of the thing.

Also, did you ever stop to think that Miles will automatically fund his neices future without batting an eye, and that this is something his sister's family and Miles' family may have wanted to help ease the pain and shock of an unimaginable tragedy?

My sister worked with Hope and they were not rich at all. Les did not move them down here,Hope moved here to be close to her Mother who is living in an assisted living home. I do'nt know all the details but Hope And Les were not as close as they once were growing up.Hope was a single Mom working two jobs trying to make ends meet with a very small insurance policy at work. Im sure Les is going to help some but these girls are going to have to work, play ball for the scholarship and go to school.Jess, who goes to school in Hammond does not even have a car and Katie has an older car with no aircondition and is on it's last leg. There is no Father in the picture so they are pretty much on thier own. These girls never asked anyone to set a fund for them but I know they would appreciate it. If you can see it in your heart and want to help please do so, if you can't afford it just send prayers.Sorry for the long post.

I gave you a rebuttal two posts up there, buddy. You're judging without seeing the other point of view, merely calling those who choose not to donate...scum and embaressing.

Folks don't like the way it was handled by the University, especially in the light of a similar tragic death that just occurred to an actual member of the University.

Also, they had no affiliation with the University but through Miles, which as I stated earlier...is an oxymoron capitalizing off his name which incidentally has more money than all of us.

This is a bad deal. The money Les has made off of the state and now they are asking for donations for the kids.

I think that Uncle Les should and will pony up for these kids education.

Probably was going to be that way before their mom was tragically killed.

I don't think that Les should have allowed this to happen.

At first I thought it was a charitable trust set up in her honor.

I think you're confusing our sentiments here. We're calling out those trying to dissuade others from donating scum and embarrassments, and rightly so.

I found the info on lsu.edu in about 5 seconds, along with a link to a memorial fund setup by the family.
