LOL, just that people that don't reason things out and post things before they know the whole story bother me. Some posters are SO SURE they KNOW whats going on and in most cases end up being totally wrong.

Let's also stop to think that any dollar amount donated will help. Les has his own children and future to consider. He hasn't made 4m a year for his whole career and who knows how long he will coach. I'm not saying he wouldn't help his family but he has other concerns as well.

bingo! i don't personally give a shite one way or another but it's just weird. thanks for putting it down in plain english for us cajun.
I'm just cynical but as Lester is pointing out, it'd be just another fund in the paper. Whether, LSU Athletics is sponsoring it or not doesn't matter, it's the perception that matters...Miles matters to LSU, ergo, this fund matters to LSU.

I'm willing to bet that a lot of the people that have a problem with this don't have a lot of money themselves. just a guess.

I'm willing to bet that alot of the people who have a problem with this already don't like Les Miles. I'm not saying all or anyone specifically but I could see it swaying someone one way or the other on this topic.

Seriously? Now y'all are just acting foolish. You want to argue principle, fine. Don't try to mix retarded Rant shite into it.

I wasn't accusing anyone, but are you going to tell me some ranter might not use that as a deciding factor?
You spoke of perception, how you perceive Miles in other ways could definitely affect how you view this situation.

Opinions , everybody has one.

No dog in this hunt, but I've seen some callous things said by folks on both sides.
This is an entirely petty subject to make a comment on. It's there. Choose to contribute, or move along.
But, folks who choose to do so aren't being ignorant of the fact that their family has money.
Folks who choose not to or are being cynical aren't just folks from meager backgrounds.
Some of the opinions expressed on both sides of the discussion in this thread are absolutely disgusting.

I'm not seeing how your connecting your dots. With that, I'm out. I've summed up the opinion of the fund detractors. Nothing left for me to say.

In the initial post, someone if I recall worked with her and said that there would probably be a fund set up.
Perhaps it's the FRIENDS/COMPANY that she worked with/for who set this up ... I'd be willing to bet that they did it and didn't speak to Les about it. Hell, they may be the ones who asked LSU to put it on lsusports.net.
Donate if you want ... don't if you don't.

I think you made me crosseyed. But anyway, I respect your opinion and agree to disagree.

I'm not arguing. People have a right to do as they choose. The perception is it was publicized by the Athletics Dept. and the draw is that it's Miles' sister's kids. Basically capitalizing off his name to get donations. The oxymoron is that name has more money than all of us.
That's what bothers some people
This.

That is an interesting and fair question. Has this fund been posted to the LSU sports website? Would this fund draw more money than your average persons tragic death situation as a result of using LSU as a vehicle? I have no idea what the answer is but it is an interesting question if in fact the fund has been posted on anything having to do with LSU. I am guessing it's not on the LSU website, but i am not sure. I will keep any personal feelings I have to myself. I know most often families I know who have lost loved ones have these donations advertised in the obituaries which are paid for by the family.
My apologies. I was not paying close attention to the original thread. I thought for sure LSU being a public institution would not post this on their website. I assumed wrong. I stand corrected.

The OP links LSUsports.net, but it's also been posted on nola.com and wbrz.com for sure.

If lsu is publizing this it shouldn't be to the benefit of her kids but to a charity. She didn't work for lsu, didn't attend lsu and nor do her daughters. If they do have an affiliation and I'm wrong then I have no problem with lsu lending their resources..
