considering the age of the children and the tens of millions of dollars that thier uncle has made while coaching at LSU and other locations, this seems a bit odd
I thought the same thing when I read the heading
Glad i wasnt the first to say/ think it though

Again, we have NO IDEA WHO SET THIS FUND UP ! What can't people understand about this?

How in the hell do you know what the mother wanted ?
Your argument is retarded. I'm so sure the mother intended for her kids to survive by the charity of others. Im sure the mother had death benefits and a positive net worth.
Miles is going to take care of the kid that needs to be taken care of. If you want to throw money in a well, then by all means...go ahead.

Then why are we still arguing about this?

I'm not arguing. People have a right to do as they choose. The perception is it was publicized by the Athletics Dept. and the draw is that it's Miles' sister's kids. Basically capitalizing off his name to get donations. The oxymoron is that name has more money than all of us.
That's what bothers some people.

why do you think this?
because Les Miles is her brother?
ever been around death? or wealthy people that died?
it's not exactly a given that family takes care of them automatically. get a clue. Les Miles, regardless of his worth, has no responsibility to these kids if they have a father.

I just really doubt this is the case. I think it's more likely they were responding to people desperately wanting to help.
Of course none of us know what's really going on so frick it.

Do you idiots think Les even knew this fund was set up ? I bet he couldn't care less about that right now. His sister just died. I would bet this fund was set up without his knowledge or input. And I know Les will take care of his family. Just step back for a few days and wait to see what happens. Damn, some of you people are total tools.

ok.. but lsu fans have a responsibility? do you know how many parents have died in BR recently that lsu has not publicized/set up funds for their kin?

It's like I read all of the posts within this thread just by looking at the thread title.

It's not like you won't be able to get season tickets if you don't donate. It's voluntary.

I've been around death plenty but I would think there'd be support available to last the kid for a year until she graduated. The rest are grown. In my broke arse family, we helped take care of one kid for ten years. I've got enough faith in humanity to believe their family will support them.

i know that... color me crazy but i just think it's rather tacky that lester let this happen seeing as though he rakes in just shy of 4mm per. that is all. i'll slowly walk away from this thread now....

No responsibility. No one is making you donate, genius.
newspaper obits publicize funds all the time. Do you have a problem with that?
do you think Les Miles said "make sure you post on LSUSports.net that we are asking for donations so I dont have to give these kids any money!!!!" ???
