Paris at safety w/1s

I felt like he should have been safety since he got on campus. Good call.

exactly... and i'm hoping Donte is going to WR next year... him and Dillon would really open the top of the defense for us... would allow us to utilize that height of Sullivan, Davis, Anderson, Washington, etc, underneath, for easier passing game production and consistent drive progression...

Fulton ahead of Smith is interesting though....

Fulton was rated higher than Saivion Smith coming out of high school. I figured Fulton would be the quickest to get on the field out of all the youngsters. I honestly feel like Saivion should be moved to safety. I just feel like he'd murder it there.

But we do have Jacoby Stevens, Grant Delpit coming in this year and possibly Todd Harris. Monroe on the roster as well. Jesus Christ our db's are about as talented as you can get. Just need them to get coached up and play to their potential.

Jackson isn't bad at all. Tons of talent. But he needs to get his head in tgere game. To many mental mistakes the last couple games of the season.

Can't really remember, but I think it was Fulton that had that bad arse one arm tackle on a rb.

Wish there was a gif of it, I can't even remember what game it was in.

I'm going to say this one more time for.....more slowly. If Jackson is our #1 next year we are in trouble. I'm not the coach, I'm hoping some younger guys step up, etc...but tolliver and Jackson have been dissappointments. Jackson is not nearly physical enough and can't tackle.

does this mean donte jackson gets demoted?

I really truly hope so. Jackson is fast but that's about it. We are privileged in that when one 5 star corner is clearly not working out, there's another right behind him that can step in and be elite.

Seems more like toliver is getting passed up.

Based on the Depth Chart on the website that was updated on 12/26/16, Fulton was just moved up to 2 on Tre's side and KT is backing up DJ.

Paris was 2 behind Tre but apparently is moved to Safety

He just needs to get his head around during coverage otherwise the refs will keep calling interference every time he puts a finger on a receiver. He may look bad at times but he doesn't get beat.
This, he is panicked and needs to calm down on thrown balls. with his length, he is in decent position to break up passes. I think a little muscle and get better at the LOS he would be good to great. He has speed to burn.

Jackson is fast! Makes a lot of bad plays & is not physical enough at times! Can't tackle.

I'd like to see that Florida TD again, then. I thought he got beat in real time...

Receiver made an outside move off LOS, Jackson bit and was beat. He caught up and was on WRs inside hip with his head turned when the ball got there, ball was outside though and receiver adjusted.

Jacksons problem is sitting on routes too long IMO, gives up separation initially on the second move. He's very confident in his makeup speed (rightfully so) but it's harder to play the ball on well timed passes when playing catch up rather than "running the route with the receiver"

IMO

one on one situations, as referenced be tossed aside like a rag doll on that 98 yard td against FL. He also fumbled that game and cost us 3 points for a total of 10. Yes, he is fast.

Jackson made the mistake of not respecting the Florida receiver's speed and was playing very close press coverage. It may have been an ego thing. Tre White on the other side backed off and gave himself a cushion on his guy as Jackson should have done. It definitely was a bone-headed mistake. Hopefully he learned well from it.

Yes Savion would probably make a better safety than corner but he can legit play both and we need him more at corner. We will have possibly the deepest safety corps in the country and thats going to be outright jihad in the spring/fall between Paris, Battle, Xavier Lewis, Cam Lewis, Monroe, Jacoby and Delpit. The only true corners on the roster will be Fulton, Jackson, Tolliver(maybe) and true freshman Kary Vincent Jr. I could see Battle and Cam Lewis possibly being moved to outside linebacker.
