It was obvious as the season went along that there were some things that needed Miles attention, and he was either to loyal to players and coaches to make changes.

This certainly was not obvious at the beginning of the year. In fact, if you read the scrimmage reports, Jefferson was well behind the other two. In hindsight, knowing how bad our defense was, we should have invested more time in him since competing for the SEC wasn't really an option.

2. The defense line play was sub-par and needed addressing.

I'm not sure what you expect Miles could have done during the middle of the year about this. This is a symptom of larger defensive coaching issues.

3. The defense play overall was very medicore, for such a talented team.

Agree

4. Miles would have been better serve to meet with his coaches and give the defense to one coach.

I really don't think that this encompasses the majority of our problems. If he had handed off the reigns totally to Mallory, I think we see exactly what we saw all year. In fact, I think Peveto was DC in name only. The real problem was that our coaches weren't getting the job done...not that they were stepping on each other's toes.

5. To many games this LSU team wasn't ready to play at the opening tip, and all these things can only be place at the feet of the Head Coach.

I disagree. I think that this boils down to the incoming gameplan, or lack thereof. It's a symptom of a lack of defensive coaching.

quote:

Dinardo loyalty to bad coaches led to his down fall, i think Les Miles is a good coach, but he must get more discpline on this team, and surround himself with better coaches, who can bring back the toughness and aggressiveness back to this team, and make playing in Tiger Stadium a thing to be fear by opposing team.

I agree.

The bottom line is that the entire season we saw symptoms of the same 2 problems...Poor QB play and poor Defensive coaching. I don't think Miles chose to keep the status quo during the year...I think that his coaching staff (who he selected) was unable to make the necessary adjustments.

Is that some kind of new health plan?

Really. Get some basic spelling and grammar help before your next post.

I think Miles shoulda grabbed his facemask, pulled his head down and spit in eyes while he chewed his arse out. That would get the parents attention, I promise you. (BTW, it's been pretty well discussed on here that Miles was chewing Johnsons arse out, the "hug" wasn't all bubbly and cuddly)

Woody Hayes might have rushed the field and kicked the Arky player's arse....

Miles coaches for a living, I doubt this guy writes for a living...

Earthquake is pretty much dead on....

It's not all Miles fault nor is it all Malveto or the players. They all take equal 1/3 responibilities in the MASSIVE failure of our defense this year. Miles had been very good at choosing assistants until this year and I believe he will correct that. The discipline thing starts with Miles and works it's way to the leaders of the team so I'll put that on him. There is plenty of blame to go around but to lump it all on 1 position and/or coach is to show how VERY LITTLE you know about this sport. This will be a true test of what Miles is made of in the offseason, it starts with who he names as DC to them keeping a stellar recruiting class and going into spring with a new attitude and culture..... Pelini was the fire on the sideline last year as he kept all the BS'n from the players down and the right DC and assistants will do that.

Just something else to keep in mind is the fact that Miles and his staff, until this year, won A LOT of games and a NC and it wasn't just because it was Sabans players. The man can coach and the OC is very good and we WILL have a very DC next year so lets give them the benefit of the doubt.
