I love LSU, but i can tell you that a head coach must have good assistances around him or he will fail.

It is up to the coaches to develop players and place players an a position to may plays, also they must get the right players on the field.

It was obvious as the season went along that there were some things that needed Miles attention, and he was either to loyal to players and coaches to make changes.

1. It was obvious that Jefferson whould have recieved some playing time early in the season.
2. The defense line play was sub-par and needed addressing.
3. The defense play overall was very medicore, for such a talented team.
4. Miles would have been better serve to meet with his coaches and give the defense to one coach.
5. To many games this LSU team wasn't ready to play at the opening tip, and all these things can only be place at the feet of the Head Coach.
6. Dinardo loyalty to bad coaches led to his down fall, i think Les Miles is a good coach, but he must get more discpline on this team, and surround himself with better coaches, who can bring back the toughness and aggressiveness back to this team, and make playing in Tiger Stadium a thing to be fear by opposing team.

Players want to be discpline and directed, they expect coaches to guide them.

Before you pile on Coach Miles, you need to take a hard look at your own grammar and spelling.

Same goes for just about anything in life. As a manager, you're only as good as your people working under you. Great leaders surround themselves with better assistants.

That poster probably isn't getting paid three mil a year to write yet there were probably less grammatical and spelling errors in the post than any one game we played this year.

Here's what Bear Bryant had to say on this subject:

quote:

If your assistant coaches aren't smarter than you are, then you don't need them!

Beware of "yes" men. Generally, they are losers. Surround yourself with winners. Never forget - people win.

No need to have co-assistances coaches on the team.

good Lord, do you love miles that much that you are going to attack a mans grammar on a message board when what he is saying is true?

Some of you guys are amazing, everyone with an open mind and a little common sense knows that a forum is made for open discussing.

I will tell all of you that a lot of parents read these Messeage Boards, and i am not an ex-parent, but the parent of an ex player who was a three year stater for LSU. There are somethings going on within this program that need to be fix, players are not being held accountable for their action, all you have to do is look back at the last game, and you can see where a sr. player commits a stupid error and then Miles hugs him and sit him out for two plays and put him right back in the game. The same thing happen a few minutes later with another player when the defense had made a stop.

In my post i did not flame Miles i only said that he has to open his eyes and realize that something is very wrong with this team. He will have a good many players drafted on the first day from both the OL and DL, yet neither line dominated or played very physical this year.

You guys can fool yourself if that what you choose to do, but again i say this off-season will be very important in determing if the Tigers can get back to being one of the elite teams in the country or an average team.

MILES MUST GET COMPLETE CONTROL OF THIS TEAM, or they will continue to spiral down hill.

_____________

He got here in AUGUST. He was not ready. He actually had to learn the playbook.

He was injured in the beginning of the season. He hurt his shoulder. A medical redshirt request was even considered. Why would anyone want to play an injured freshman QB who does not know the playbook?

Advocate --- 10/27/08

On this board I think hindsight is 20/200.

You believe that he was actually hurt?! No, dude. He claimed that JJ was "hurt" to avoid burning his redshirt, as he had already played. Good grief, quit believing everything Miles says. Miles made a massive mistake in not preparing Jefferson. You say he didn't know the playbook/wasn't ready to play. Who's freaking fault is that??!! The damn coaches! Multiple failures by Miles this year.

I think Miles shoulda grabbed his facemask, pulled his head down and spit in eyes while he chewed his arse out.

That would get the parents attention, I promise you.

(BTW, it's been pretty well discussed on here that Miles was chewing Johnsons arse out, the "hug" wasn't all bubbly and cuddly)

Really. What makes you think that Jefferson --- or any QB --- could learn the playbook and be in sync with the offense with only 3 weeks of practice?

Forget the injury. If you think this is possible you are hopeless.
