dude, we have had top 5 recruiting classes since Sabans 2d year, the offensive talent IS there. Go ahead and be content with mediocrity. Bertman did a half arse job when he hired Miles. Hell, I don't even think they looked that hard for a coach.

Hey man, I have been going to games for 48 years and was about the same age when my Dad took me to the games. We were primariy average, sometimes bad, occassionally good ---- and never great for 45 years from 1960 to now. We are in the Top 10 and competitive with anybody in the country -- something we weren't for 45 years. Man up.

Exactly.

Indeed. Steele, maybe you should switch your allegiance to a college football team that never disappoints its fans. Some one like Ohio State, or Southern Cal or Texas or Oklahoma or Georgia.

I have been watching for longer than you have ole buddy. Let me tell you that your grandkids have infected you with the current sickness around LSU football. LSU lost to a team that has as much or more talent than they did. Talent that is also 2 years older on the whole than LSU's. That alone will usually account for winning a game. If you remember the 60 Sugar Bowl then you remember LSU, with a more talented team, get shellacked by Ole Miss and have an even worse offensive performance than they did last saturday night. Stop and take a breath and get some perspective.

So let's see, competing with the #1 team in the nation late in the game is just as disappointing as watching LSU lose in Tiger Stadium to the likes of Colorado State, Southern Miss, UAB, Houston, etc. How about sitting through a 58-3 and 56-13 beatdown from the Gators? How about watching Bama dominate LSU in Tiger Stadium for decades (I still can't get the 26-0 game out of my head)? How about Notre Dame putting on a clinic in Tiger Stadium? How about that time Arkansas beat LSU 41-14 in Tiger Stadium. I was born in 1980 and I witnessed all of these games as well. I'm not satisfied with LSU's offensive performance either but I would never consider turning my back on my beloved alma mater.

Geez! I can think of 50 LSU losses that hurt worse than last Saturday's loss.

I know I will ruffle some feathers with this post. I have been following LSU Football for over
60 years. I can remember when I was just a lad at 6 years old sitting with my Dad listening to LSU play on the radio on a Saturday night. I remember the Billy Cannon run against Ole Miss.
I never saw my Dad so excited. Later on we got our first tv in 1955. Boy howdy LSU on tv.
Getting to my point after all these years going through the DiNardo and Hallman years it was bad
real bad but we expected some of the losses but
now LSU has some of the most Elite players in history of LSU football. I realize LSU was playing the Gators who is sitting @ #1 in the football poles. But to my knowledge this was the most dissapointing loss that I can ever remember. The defense Played a good game. But the offense looked like they had never prepared for the game. The QB play was so sad it look like the kid had a clue as to what was going on. He started out good last year and seemed to have it together until recently. The need someone to work with this kid. He has the ability but at times he looks like a deer in headlights. Les Miles is the man responsible for this teams play.
If we lose to Auburn I have wasted 60 years on a team that I have loved with all my heart and I cannot continue to watch such a talented team go to waste. My heart goes out to this team I love these guys. I just wish they could finish out this year without a loss. My apologies for being so long with this. I just got through watching the replay of the Florida game and had to to do something to relieve the pain of the team not having a leader on the field.
Do us all a favor then and
BTW, why the frick would you list TCU as your favorite team if you've been such a "die hard" LSU fan for over 60 years? fricking alters.

How did you feel in 2003 when Florida came to Tiger Stadium and whooped us 19-7?...and the 7 came from an early punt return for a TD. So we scored ZERO offensive pts. And yet we won the National Championship.
I agree our offense looks pathetic right now, but it's not time to give up. And if the offense doesnt get in gear this season, then Miles will clean house and we can look fwd to maybe more exciting offensive times soon. I still hope he cleans house on that side of the ball...Ive really gotten to distrust Crowton with the playcalling and handling of the QB.

The offensive talent you refer to are no longer on the team. We have lost many key players from the classes of 05, 06 and 07. They guys you see starting should be in backup roles this year.

wasted 60 years. i feel sorry for you man. either we are the same age or you are BS's us about your age. Without LSU, LSU football, LSU baseball, LSU basketball, ETC., my life would have not been as rich. There have been so many highlights that there's no way to remember them all. yes, we are struggling on offense right now, but to compare this team to any of the curly hallman teams is just wrong. stovall and archer had much worse teams, too. hopefully, JJ has bottomed out. somewhere along the line, it has got to come together for him. i hope it does and i hope auburn is the game. i've hated them for 60 years!

what the thread starter said doesnt make much sense true, but waht u say does, unfortunately this wont change, its the internet, where a bunch of hardlegs can say exactly what they want about anyone with no consequences, I doubt, and hope that many of them would say these things to anyone in a face to face setting, but on here this will not change. you just gotta take it with a grain of salt, the nasty and rude 1s are not that way because they want to be, but because they have to be, its a result of their parents not having respect, they do what they see, it makes them feel tough, they think they are feeding their self esteem, but in reality, they are feeding their egos
hey Casey, are u a friend of Bill W. ?
