Coach O is still one of the best Dline coaches in the country. Yeah, that's why teams have been beating down the door to hire him.
How do you know they haven’t?
You know the media would be all over it. They have not.

Coach O hasnt had much incentive to get any other job, his last buyout payment finally went through in December last year
We'll see where the near future looks for him, he will be 65 so i cant imagine unless he really wants (/needs) some more cash him getting another job

I agree with that, but he has said he has the itch to coach again and has retained an agent.

“If the right situation comes in coaching, I’m going to go get after it again,” Orgeron said. “Now, do I expect to be a national championship coach? I’m not expecting that. I’m not expecting to be a head coach. I was happy being a defensive line coach. I loved it. I love coaching football. I love being retired. Either one would be fine.”

If we’ve learned anything in coaching searches, it is that the media doesn’t know everything that goes on.
There are many major universities that would love to have his help if they thought he was interested in this type of full-time work at the moment.

But we also know they report rumors as fact. And agents leak information or even make up rumors to try to drive up value.

Saying 1 thing and being serious about it a different story.
We've been paying him the last 4 years now after he left here a hefty sum of money and he certainly seemed like he was having his fun rather than wanting to be coaching during that time. The grind can take a toll on everyone in there and I'm sure he was enjoying not having to work.
It's a grind, not something every 60 something year old looks forward to necessarily at that point in their life if they are way more than financially well off and whatnot. He might just be happy coming around doing things here and there ultimately like a Pete Jenkins of sorts.

Well, so far you’re wrong on at least two points.
Coach O IS indeed considered one of the very best defensive line coaches in the country.
The media does NOT know everything that goes on.

Hard to be wrong when I did not say this. You guys keep saying it.

Sure, whatever helps you feel better. Your opinion is obviously a fact.
Look, Orgeron is an elite recruiter and one of the better motivators in the game. And he is a good Dline coach. He is not one of the very best. Sorry.

I think the lineman camp that Pete Jenkins is involved with is going on right now.

Of course not, just like you aren't. What's your point? We're on a fan site where fans give their opinions.

That's unlikely. How about you?

O DID
OK, so did Les Miles. So did Larry Coker and Gene Chizik, Again, what is your point

Yall can be upset on what happened post Natty, but the dude is one of the best coaches and if Lane thinks he can help this team out, Im all for it.
Never was upset with him. I was upset with Edwards, Carville, and Woody.
He gave us the best NCAA football team in history. As soon as his recruits, the last were Nabers and Thomas, left, the wheels came off. I mean we were down in the ditch and couldn't get up.

Since the end of the Dinardo era, the wheels were never more off than in 2021.
