If the Black Bears take the full 3 mths to respond, and the NCAA's take 2-3 mths to hand down its findings, this could hit them just as the season starts. And then they lose and lose and lose again to start the season. Wondering why Archie has been so quiet, he was one of Freeze's biggest supporters in the hiring process.

Yep, they're called homonyms

My bad, it seemed like a sincere question. I'm usually good at detecting these things.

He just went 5-7 in the midst of a mid 30's recruiting class with the ncaa breathing down his neck. And Ole Miss STILL wants this guy. Could you imagine how fast we'd be calling for O's head if he ever goes 5-7. I just don't get that bunch.

It's simple, he made them relevant, not only in the SEC, but national level. The last time they were SEC relevant was 2009 before Houston Nutt ran out of the talent that coach O stockpiled (they beat us in 08 and 09). The last time they were nationally relevant was Eli's senior year.

I mean dude they beat LSU and Bama, and won the Sugar Bowl finishing 10th overall with 3 first round draft picks just the year prior. Don't give me the cheating crap, as tons of schools do it. It's just that Ole Miss got caught, or more likely snitched on.

Why would they want a guy gone whose record had increased each year before the 2016 debacle? A guy that turned around a team that was in the shite hole of the SEC West.

H Nutt 2009-2011
9-4, 4-8, 2-10

H Freeze 2012-2015
7-6, 8-5, 9-4, 10-3

Well, considering Ole Miss recruits against 2 other in state D1 schools in a pretty small state, Ole Miss has a tough row to hoe. It would take another Johnny Vaught to bring them to their previous glory. BTW, Vaught was the only Ole Miss coach to ever win a SEC title in football.

1) this really doesn't belong on the rant.

2) most likely, OM is waiting for the NCAA to hang a show/cause on Freeze before they terminate him in order to not have to pay Hugh's buy-out.

Their best bet is to probably hold onto Freeze for at least next year

Part of the NCAA penalties may be that Freeze is suspended for 1/3 or even the whole season. Then what? Hold onto him & pay him like an NFL team would?

Well the Saints did figure out a way to make things work without SP for a year, and yes I realize Freeze isn't Peyton. OM has a multitude of problems if they go looking for a HC when the NCAA finalizes their punishment. One, it won't be until probably late summer at the earliest that they find out. Two, with big time penalties coming, what decent coach would even want to go there? If he is suspended for a part of all of next season, they will have cause and not have to pay his buyout, though. It's a tough call to make at this time.

At this point I'm actually feeling empathy for their fans. It's going to be a tough decade for them.

17 programs turned Ole Miss in ,5 to 6 programs had kids interviewed by the NCAA.Miss State doesn't have the stroke to move an investigation like we are seeing with Ole Miss.

Two LSU players have been interview by the NCAA in the past about Ole Miss(Malachi Dupre),so this goes much deeper than just Miss State.

Karma's a bitch. They bent over and took it hard from the Politically Correct Police with no complaint or resistance.

Just stood there dormant as their Village was pillaged by the PC's.

Mascot gone! Flags gone! Songs gone!

Massa Wife aint Massa Wife no more and I'm lovin watching them go down in flames.

What's even more funny is a lot of their fans are ok with the crippling sanctions because the last few years have been fun for them. Think about that, LSU's worst seasons these days=OM's best seasons...

They were very blatant about cheating. It was well known the recruits went to churches to pick up gift cards

I'll admit I haven't followed this story real close. I've not seen the info your referenced and would like to read it. Would you mind sharing the link, saving me some google time? Thanks.
