The whole "FIT" thing people always bring up is mostly bullshite. You know who "Fits" that is the guy that wins. There never a more odd ball marriage than West Virginia Nick Saban and LSU / South Louisiana. The reason it worked was that he won and won big. ND got tired of Kelly because he never could get over the hump. Let Freeman keep getting into the playoff but never win it all and you will get tired of him also. Brady Quinn said it best, It took Kelly leaving for LSU for ND Booster to realize they had to step up If ND was going to have a legit chance. Freeman is now getting support that Kelly never got.

No reason to be defensive. I am a fan of BK.

will you agree that Notre Dame's regular season schedule this year was much easier than LSU's regular season schedule?

It was. But two things about that: Notre Dame beat the two common opponents LSU lost to, and handed 9 out of 11 defeated opponents their worst loss of the season to the point ND was ranked in the top 3 in all major computer rankings.

Not fair. Kelly fits at no program with championship aspirations.

Sure, but this has nothing to do with LSU… This is just Notre Dame having a very easy path to the playoffs and Marcus Freeman benefitting from that… I have no doubt that Brian Kelly would've led Notre Dame to the playoffs this year with that schedule.

Brady Quinn said that ND relaxed there requirements some and built up there nil for Freeman. Brady also said that BK went to ND administration and asked for this and was denied.

BK should be judge on the next 3 years. He inherited a team with 39 players.

Orgeron tore down.

Not true. He lost his starting QB a few games in one season, then lost his starting QB just before the season opener the following year.

And from what can be surmised by the logic in this thread is that if a coach doesn't have his starting QB, none of those losses count.

We aren't going over to ND boards. You guys have this weird fascination with him. Get over it he's gone and you have your new Savior.

Kelly is ND's version of Nick Saban. He came in and built the program back to national prominence, then left. The worst thing that can happen in the eyes of ND fans is that Kelly wins a NC at LSU and does it before ND wins one. It's exactly the same sentiment a lot of LSU fans had about Saban.

If NIL had been around when Kelly left, and the ND admin had agreed to relax academic standards, Kelly is probably still at ND.

BK didn't coach there during this dumb 12 team playoff lol. Freeman wouldn't have even made a 4 team playoff this year lol.

NIL began in July 2021. Kelly became HC of LSU on 11/30/21.

They also lost to NIU.

Some people's identity and self-esteem depends on them, or someone they identify with, being better than another person or group. You can see the propping up of BK vs MF and LSU vs ND. It's a loser mentality and mindset of a mental midget. However, it's as American as apple pie. It's probably worse in the south than anywhere in the country. So save your facts and first hand accounts. Most of what you're speaking to is the insecurity and buyer's remorse of a once proud and football savvy fanbase. They'll sober up in a few years.

In all of that wall of text, did you mention the fact that Freeman is only at Notre Dame because of Kelly? Seems like his fingerprints are still all over the program

Posts like this are evidence of why everyone that doesn't love ND hates ND.

Its like you need positive affirmation from outside your base to feel OK with yourselves.

Take Brady Quinn for example. His comments on that podcast show how out of touch and forgive me, but just how plain stupid the ND fan base is, from the sidewalk fans all the way up to former players and coaches.

Had ND supported Kelly, had they lowered their academic standards, improved their facilities, and created a collective to compete with the best in college like they have for Freeman, then Kelly probably wouldn't have left.

So you can thank Kelly 1 more fricking time, because him leaving is what motivated the ND AD and alumni to make the changes necessary to compete in college.

When you pray to Touchdown Jesus every night before bed you should thank BK for everything he's done and even continues to do for your shitty, ungrateful fans and alumni.

Your appearance in a National title game isn't enough. You've got to shite on the man who rebuilt your program too.

Here's a little cheat sheet for you guys. Freeman hasn't done anything with ND that Kelly didn't already do multiple times.

I can't wait for OSU to boat race you guys. Then watch Freeman leave for the NFL.

Next season, when you're rebuilding everything, and get to watch BK bring a championship home to LSU, when the irony hits home and karma shits down on you from a great height, order will be restored and all will be right in the world.

You golden domers and all the media and Brady Quinn and anyone else that tries to prop up ND deserve everything you're about to get. Yall have shite on Brian Kelly at every opportunity, and he certainly doesn't deserve it.

The melt is going to be glorious, and I for one can't think of anyone more deserving of such reckoning on a biblical scale like the one Notre Dame is going to go through over the next 12 months.

That they didn’t have higher standards or that they haven’t changed them?

Just wondering which way you’re incorrect

Yet he's knocked off 3 straight wins against top 10 opponents.
