Oh so enough with taking chances on up and comers? So all big schools should only hire cast offs of other big schools? Cuz if a coach is having success at a big school, he's not leaving a program that he is established at to make a lateral move.
Also, every single P5 coach was either a coordinator or a HC at a smaller school before they got their current job.

He is doing well at UTSA. He will probably interview for the Ole Miss job and wont ge it. But if he continues getting the roadrunners into bowl games someone will come calling

I agree but some interesting things to see.
First, UTSA gets little coverage. But the TV stations like Frank and have made a effort to give them more time and have his face out there. Much more than Coker.
Sports "talk" was this would be a better team than last year with a better record. It was not. Team had some weak offensive showings and while I wouldn't call it heat, Coach was kinda pushed on what was going wrong. Over-reacted, yelled at the media and wouldn't let the players interview for a week. Media basically called him out and said we don't have to cover you. Somewhat a bad look for him. IMO not ready for anything near a P5 job and may never be but certainly not yet.
On another Frank Wilson note, a couple of weeks ago they showed a clip of him saying about his team "there is a want to finish this season strong"...I laughed for 20 minutes

frank wilson, ed orgeron and willie taggert have never been coordinators except for taggert as a co-oc one season. he got moved back to "recruiter/preacher/salesman" after he stunk it up actually trying to be a football coach.
