Article is premium but you can watch the video. Article/Video
Cliffs:
- Fournette is by far the best back in this class
- This could be the best RB class since 08 (5- 1st rounders)
- The evaluated 150 players, all positions, in the offseason. LF is #1
- Ezekiel Elliot is as complete of a back as there is, Fournette is better. "He's on another level"
Make sure and take this season in as much as possible. We may never see a better football player in Purple and Gold.
LF need 2200 yds for the SEC single season rushing record
LF needs 2272 yds for the SEC career rushing record
Both are attainable if we play in the national title.

Yet there are more than a few idiot ranters from the hawgs & Black Bears on the SEC Rant who claim he is over rated because "most of his big stats come against OC competition". bama ranters are split on how good he "really is". I used the word "idiots" to be polite.

When reading the back and forth between LSU and FSU fans regarding the Fournette/Cook debate, I'd ask, how many of the 32 NFL teams would pick Cook over Fournette in a vacuum? Cook is an insane talent, but LF has an unprecedented combination of tangible and intangible attributes. Maybe not unprecedented, but definitely uncommon. He's legitimately in a class with Adrian Peterson, Bo Jackson, Barry Sanders, Herschel Walker, etc. A truly rare talent that we get one more season to admire and brag about

This is key. 2272 in 15 games is 151 ypg. lower than his avg last year.
Could be a fun year.

Good backs rely on the Oline. I watched replay of Elliot v's Michigan. State. He had 12 carries for like 30 yards. Even the best backs rely on Oline, qb, and coaches to put them in position to succeed. If someone says he's overrated because of one or two games then they are just ignorant and are stat line evaluators. Those same fans probably said aj mccaron would be a great NFL qb.

And here comes the Bama envy.

Never heard a single person say that LF was overrated or the AJ McCarron would be a great NFL QB. He was good in the system that Bama had for him just like Tebo had in Florida.

Even great backs rely on OL, not to mention outstanding play calls to efficiently utilize their God-given talents. Not using LF on flares and circle routes against teams that stacked the box with good talent like 'Bama and Arky is just plain unforgiveable. Fournette only needs a small crease for the blink of an eye to over-power a defense. The Tigers' OL is talented and it's time to step up to the levels of the greatest Tiger teams in recent history; '03 '07, '10, '11, '12 and '13. The kind of dominant OL play that LSU displayed in those seasons could lead to rushing records for LF and the team that will last for many years.

Agreed. Must be similar to what it was like to watch Billy Cannon in person. Another level indeed.

Any time i think AJ was overrated, I remember John Parker Wilson...

The record he would break was set in 3 years, by Walker, with an 11 game schedule and no bowl stats.
LF could break the record with a lower YPC and YPG average. Not taking anything away from LF, but give Walker his due.

Regardless of 11 game schedules and bowl stats.....If LSU makes the playoff and assuming LF averages 25 carries per game like last year, he would finish with 375 carries for 2,445 yards and a career total of 5,432. That would be more than Herschel's total of 5,259. He would also finish his 3 year career with 862 carries - 132 less than Herschel.
