Yep it is his LSU shoulder pads. I saw them one time hanging in his locker while he was getting interviewed.

It's pretty common, Favre wore his Packers shoulder pads when he played for the Jets and Vikings. I wonder if those have to be inspected annually. Couldn't find a better pic but you can see it.
