Pretty sure that center is a dude
That is Uljana Semjonova from the Soviet team, the first non-American to be inducted into the women's basketball hall of fame.

really cool post. Didn't know she was in the Olympics. If you would've said those pics were from her as freshman in highschool I would've believed it. Like a kid amongst the size of those other players.

Kim was rocking those Converse All Stars!

Thanks for this story. I'm old enough to remember when Mulkey was tearing it up in H S.
The pic with her being towered by the Russian giant is a reminder of the Soviet bloc "women's" Olympic teams back then. I don't know if transgender was a word at that time but it sure was used by the communist bloc. Remember the East German "women's" Olympic teams? They had it down to science.

This is when LATech was dominating in women's hoops. Around the same time Karl Malone was in Ruston as well.
All I remember is Kim's blonde ponytail being a blur on the court. And that intensity she has now was certainly with her then. They used to kick LSUs arse with no effort.

Saw her play at NLU. She was an excellent point guard. Hustle was her name. With a bit of attitude thrown in.
