re: Former LSU players had high praise for Coach Orgeron and his staff

Right, the polls just reflect how much the team has improved relative to other teams in the country and relative to other LSU seasons, but they dont reflect our final SEC west standing or our final season record (though that is taken into account and plays a large part in where we end up ranked). The polls are more a reflection of how good the team is, which becoming a better team will play a large part in the things you are talking about (making the playoffs and winning the NC)

Right, the post season poll basically says we believe LSU is the 6th best team right now. It’s not an accomplishment representation Or a position setting us up for a future goal like the regular season polls are.

Well it was an improvement over miles final 4 seasons, 2012. 2013, 2014, and 2015 as we never even broke into the top 10 in any of those seasons. In fact the team only had one top 5 finish since 2007. So i saw a great deal of improvement for the team in 2018, finishing ranked #6, over where we had been in a very long time

Your right in that how you finish a season doesnt set you up for the following season other than to recognize that the quality of tbe team has improved a great deal which is a large step towards having a better season the following season (depending on who returns and how much improvement they make in the off season and any additions to the team that may help improve the team). If a coach can get his team to a level where it is a perinial elite TOP tier team it should start making the playoffs giving it a shot at the NC's. The first step is to build the team back into one of those top 10 type teams that can sometimes be top 4.

The polls are recognition by those that follow football that LSU had a very good team in 2018, 6th best, which shows the team has improved a great deal over where we had been the last 5-6 years and are that much closer to where we need to be, which is a perineial top tier program that can compete for the NC on a regular basis. We arent there yet but are closer than we have been for a long time.
Third in the West and 6th overall is an improvement?
I look at the schedule and see what a collosial Miami and Auburn were and think with the losses to UF and TAMU then another embarrassing shutout against BAMA this team was about 15. You can’t say that McKenzie Milton didn’t make a huge difference or the UCF team was the same as the previous season in which they beat a decent Auburn team.
This really felt mode like 2015 than 2011.

To me what it is that you seem to fail to recognize is that with better teams the odds are greatly increased of having better records and better outcomes. That is why it is important to build the team into an even stronger team. The polls reflect that in the opinion of most people who follow college football, that this LSU team was much stronger in 2018 and I have no reason to believe that it wont be even stronger in 2019. I know that you 7 (add tiger1988 who is probably an alias troll anyway) disagree, but most other LSU fans, the media, the coaches, the players, the ex players, the pollsters, and college football fans in general believe the team is getting better.

Yep the oline is loaded with potential for 2018, plenty of experienced talent and newcomers to find 5 quality starters from and some decent backups

Wow.
You do realize that lsu was the top rated 3 loss team under miles and it was 14th and 12th, right?
This just happens to be a crazy year where 3 losses gets you 6th.

I don’t really disagree with you, if you believe where we ended this post season plays a major role in next season that’s your opinion and I wouldn’t say it’s wrong. I just tend to think seasons are more isolated and independent. I think they all have their own set of challenges and I think personnel wise teams are much more fluid than say the NFL. What I mean is you see more turnover and players winning and losing positions more in college year to year. Seasons like 98, 2012 and 2015 are some examples of this.

Miles games started boring fans to death. Coach O’s got fans excited with Aub, Ga and the Aggies, fans across the country ate LSU up!
Posted on 1/25/19 at 7:43 am to TrueTigerTale
Actually when Miles was at LSU our games were the most watched in the country by other fan bases so your statement is completely false and exactly opposite of the truth.

How stupid are you...
Do you understand trends?
You know the direction of program... recruiting, being competitive, player development ect?
Plus downright lying to your boss and fanbase about the offense can’t improve your hances of staying employed either

You mean like o saying....," we are gonna hire the best coordinators"
Also, everyone of Miles' offenses except 2009 were more productive than 2018.
When you shite on Miles' offenses youre shitting on the 2018 offense.

I guess 3 losses look alot better when you're coming off historic losses to MSU and Troy. Good point.

Go check your post history. All you do is whine about other people's posts and suck off O. You never actually post about the playing of football.
