Geez, would you two just stop? You've been arguing back and forth for the entire day or longer.

Give it a damn rest.

The highest rated games were BCS

Look at the last two playoff championships

The first playoff NCG game had the highest ratings of any NCG since the 2006 BCS game.

You're literally trying to support your point with one game.

Talk about biases.

Well I tried.

I'm not exactly sure what the two of you are arguing about. We've gone from the title of this thread to something about the BCS to something else, to voters, and whatever else.

If you (that would be either of you) haven't gotten your point across by now, it's not going to happen. Just drop it and let this thread disappear.

You've been doing this for over 24 hours now.

Goodness.

I agree. It's ridiculous all the way around.

Havent read a lot of this, but with 61 more or less biased polsters from around the country their biases would most likely be in offsetting directions im order to get to a truer mean. Now if there were only a handfull of posters their individual biases would carry more weight and have a larger effect on the outcome of such a poll

When they figure this out our Offensive Scheme still will not be fixed and we will finish 4th in the SECW instead of 3rd.

The BCS needed to die and give way to Power 5 Conferences subsidized by TV money from ESPN/Fox/ & Conference Networks like SECN, ACC, Big Ten networks which flooded the FBS with more Money than the NFL: There is a real SEC bias and that needs to be worked out or the other lesser Conferences will not survive. Fisher coming to A&M and having a strong year resulted in RC Slocum getting on the CFP selection Committee so now they have Chancellor/AD/HC/Recruiting and CFP rep plus unlimited money. They are set.

The college sports arms race has a whole lot to do with TV money, which is much of what gives the”Power Five” their status. Money lets schools land top coaches, hire more assistants, strength coaches and so on, improve facilities to attract recruits, and schedule favorable games, and while individual schools’ ticket sales, donations, sponsorships and so on matter, the per-school distribution from conferences (which is largely about TV revenue) is essential. The Big Ten and SEC seem to be pulling away from the rest of the Power Five there, and the ACC has been lagging, thanks partly to not having a linear conference network at this point. But with the ACC Network scheduled to launch on linear TV next year, it seems like that will change,

Why The BCS died: In 2012, the beleaguered BCS had been pushed to the brink of extinction by a controversial LSU-Alabama rematch in the previous title game. On June 20 of that year, conference commissioners met in Chicago and recommended a four-team playoff to take effect in 2014. Six days later, the College Football Playoff was approved, and the BCS’s days were officially numbered, leaving the computer pollsters to reflect on their run.

Comments from Massey: He selected Playoff teams without watching a game. That is statistical algorithm artificial intelligence bias.

I can rank, let’s say, Division-III volleyball teams without even seeing a game or even really knowing strategies or anything about the sport,”“One of the reasons I like what I do is I can rank, let’s say, Division-III volleyball teams without even seeing a game or even really knowing strategies or anything about the sport,” Massey says. “It’s such a general algorithm, it works for any sport you want to throw at it.”

Massey: “I advocated pretty early on for a four-team playoff—just let the BCS formula select them, rather than go through this whole process of having an all-star committee and flying them in and wining and dining them.

Massey: “The BCS was great because it was completely automated. It was like a lightning rod, and if anything was unpopular, Condoleezza Rice didn’t have to get on TV and explain it.”

Sagarin: “Here’s the nirvana I’ve reached: I don’t care. It has no effect on my life if Oklahoma gets picked over Auburn or if out of the blue they decided that undefeated Arizona State gets in. There was a point in my life when I actually cared. I don’t care.”

Massey: “I’m sure people on the committee and people that vote in the polls and people that talk about college football on TV, I’m sure they’re still going to my website to check out what the computers are saying. It’s just another data point. I just enjoy doing it. Whether it’s part of the BCS or not, I’m going to keep doing it. Some people do woodworking, and some people go hunting, or whatever. I sit at my computer and do this kind of stuff.”

Billingsley: “I always knew that I would continue on with my rankings. I told the other computer guys, and I told [CFP executive director] Bill Hancock: My rankings were around a long time before the BCS came along, and they’re going to be around until the day I die.”

Exactly.

I wasn't throwing a temper tantrum at all. I simply asked for that particular poster to practice what he preached. Otherwise he's a huge hypocrite which his behavior proved this out.

quote:

I still don't understand why this angers you so much

Not angry at all and I don't understand how you come to that conclusion.

quote:

There are objective facts which WOULD SUPPORT THE STANCE

This is where you are wrong as well. That conclusion can't be reached with those two "facts"

The guy argued for 5 pages rather than admit that you couldn't come to the conclusion that he was claiming. He's dishonest and doesn't argue in good faith.

He's also a huge hypocrite and demands others adhere to rules that he himself has no intention of following. He's not the only one. There's a group here that do it.

That was my point all along.

You guys and wannabe gals are still at it? I just woke up to take a piss and thought I’d check on the status here. Don’t know whether to be concerned or impressed. The college playoffs obviously need more teams. Goodnight!

Now that its' morning, my eight picks would include these four additional playoff teams, Ga, Ohio St, Mich, and Texas. Can't see UCF beating any of these four.

You obviously enjoy insulting LSU's coach, too hateful and ignorant to realize how hard Coach O pushed his players and staff, now he's earned their respect for doing so. Well, Enjoy Brees and Sean Payton being sent home by the NFL. Remember to never throw rocks chump, or someone will rock your glass house.

Thats a guess.
Whats not a guess is that every voter is biased in some way.
