I did. Like an hour ago before you even knew they existe
Lmfao lmfao, this coming from the guy who an hour ago thought the BCS still existed and was the comprehensive poll. The only reason you went dig up polls was because we kept making you look stupid with em. You had no clue how many AP voters there were and you had no clue the BCS was gone. You’re such a pathetic liar.

This is the methodology of the AP
quote:
Each voter provides his own ranking of the top 25 teams, and the individual rankings are then combined to produce the national ranking by giving a team 25 points for a first place vote, 24 for a second place vote, and so on down to 1 point for a twenty-fifth place vote.

Its just that since media members jobs is to follow sports and write stories on them, they just have a lot more time on their hands to follow what is going on in college football and time to watch more games than the average person

Wrong again, a lot of these guys are on TV and admit that they don’t watch the games unless it’s their alma mater. But go ahead keep saying media ppl know more that coaches and not just any coaches, guys like Barry Alvarez and Tom Osborne. Like I said earlier you’re just flat out stupid so keep proving me right.

Nah just old habits. It will always be the BCS to me.

But they don’t do that, they admit this all the time.

Right it's what they're paid to do.

Here you go, little guy
And EVERY SINGLE ONE, of them is created by people making biased opinions.

Nice try but that’s not the context in which you brought the BCS up. You called it the composite ranking of today. If you’d quit trying to cover your arse admit you made a mistake and be inquisitive instead of a condescending jerk ppl would be gracious to you. Try dropping the childish pride, there’s no such thing anyway and things will be better for everyone.

Media members probably watch a lot more football than retired coaches do
Posted on 1/22/19 at 12:29 am to boxcar willie
They don’t, these guys aren’t the Joel Klatts and Mike Mayocks of the world. They’re guys like Mike Wilbon, they don’t watch a lot of different games and they say this all the time.

Right it's what they're paid to do.
Let's say each of them watch 12 hours of game film each day. That's fewer than 21 games each week.
Now, let's be realistic and say they watch 6 hours of game film each week. You think that's enough to form an opinion of who's the top 25 out of 129 college football teams without personal bias playing a factor?
If so, I've got an email from a Nigerian prince you'd probably be interested in.

Except the computer polls.
Composites generally mitigate the biases to a good degree
What's a better method? I've asked you and you've avoided

Probably more than anyone on the committee.

Joe Blow retired coach who's playing golf? Sure.
Barry Alvarez who was on the playoff committee. Highly doubtful.

People do have biases, polsters do , refs do, league officiers do. But they are SUPPOSED to be professionals and leave out their biases. Some do a better job of it than others

But that’s not what they’re paid to do. Seriously man know what you’re talking about before you contradict ppl who pay attention to this stuff.
