Reality is these kids are at greater risk when not in football.

[quote CDC guidance indicates asymptomatic carriers are 75% as infectious as symptomatic (100% infectious). Meaning you have a 75% chance of being infected with Covid-19 if in “contact” with an asymptomatic carrier.[/quote].. better go read that again on the WHO website Hoss.. in fact there’s a video stating the opposite...

If you and Lovin want to believe a WHO epidemiologist whose statements are based, in her words, on a "small subset of studies" and "unpublished data" (i.e., not peer reviewed), feel free. I believe you a cherry picking data that you want to believe in from an organization with a highly questionable track record on this virus. Remember, WHO is the organization that helped the CCP cover up the outbreak, told us there wasn't human-to-human transmission, and that this virus wasn't airborne.

... oh, you mean the same thing you are doing?... are you a doctor by ANY chance?..sounds like you are taking a guess at everything concerning football and a virus.. you know about as much as the rest of us by your statements .. if not go play the lottery...

"and did not include modeling done by researchers," but she still agreed that despite "so many unknowns . . . around 40% of transmission may be due to asymptomatic [people]."

They are all shooting in the dark.. they don’t even know.. they have been guessing since the start of the pandemic..social distancing, lockdown, wash your hands, wear a mask, etc..numbers going up..so my point is who really knows?.. they don’t seem to and neither do we..but 40% is lower than the 75% you stated in your earlier post.. but again which has more credibility, humm.. who knows...

He should have become a "former" LSU chancellor a long time ago. They kept him around too long.

I cited an actual research study done by the CDC. Peer reviewed. Based on 5 research-based models. The 40% was pulled out of the arse of the WHO epidemiologist who admitted her conclusions were based off of "subsets of studies" and "unpublished data" and not one research-based model. But let's go with her 40% asymptomatic spread number. Louisiana as of yesterday has 135,439 confirmed cases (based on the Johns Hopkins data). The 40% number that I've seen is that asymptomatic carriers account for 40% of cases so that would mean Louisiana actually has 54,175 more cases than confirmed. In turn, if those 54,175 asymptomatic carriers have a 40% infection rate, that means they will infect 21,670 people and so on and so forth. Just because 40% is lower than 75% doesn't mean a 40% asymptomatic infection rate is good.

That is not how statistics work. Saying an asymptomatic person is 75% as contagious as a symptomatic person does not mean you have a 75% chance of getting it by coming into contact with a asymptomatic person. That would imply you have a 100% chance of contracting covid if you come into contact with a symptomatic person and that is way too high a %

My Dad has cancer and is high risk. I have a new born. Want to let my Dad see my new born/his grandson.

Even a chance it could kill my Dad scares me.

And guess what, this applies to many.

There’s an example of a reason some folks are scared for you.

But hey, all the 20 years are safe - unless they give corona to someone they know who is high risk. See how this works??

Ps - no me admitting it scares me doesnt make me a skinny “pussy”

Lol

So people can go to work, go to protests, go to Home Depot, go to Lowes, go to school... But play football, frick that?

Why are you people acting like you are going to be personally exposed to this from the football players? Yeah, I get it they could transfer and transfer and transfer and so on... That can happen anywhere. If YOU are taking the correct precautions then YOUR dad will not get it from YOU.

This whole BS of everyone needs to be aware and respectful of me is bullshite. Take care of yourself.

We're 13 days past the last college football game.

Where are the millions of dead SEC players?
