I’m sure the SEC does. No question about that.
But let’s think just about testing and demographics. CDC says 3 days AFTER the lab receives the sample for results. But that’s the average. Hot spots like CA, FL, and elsewhere it’s longer than that. But in any event, it’s freshman orientation across the country a week from today and you guys really think it’s going to be business as usual? I agree with Clay Travis. Hot chicks are the threat. And I know. I should have married LSU grad Mary Elizabeth. I haven’t stopped thinking about her 20 years later.
Three days at best for the results. And most of these kids are asymptomatic.
And demographics. How has Covid impacted the obese? All of our O lines and D lines are clinically obese. Per NIH guidelines, a BMI of 30 or more is obese. A 6’ 5” 310 lb O or D lineman has a BMI of 37. And the vast majority of the players are African American, another demographic that has been inordinately impacted by this virus.
I love college football. I get a kick out of LSU fans. And your team. I’ve always liked your team and the personalities. Unlike Florida who has never played a non conference game outside the South, you guys will play anyone, anywhere. And you guys aren’t insufferable “SEC fans” like bandwagon Bama fans or the fans of the Michigan of the South, Tennessee, you guys are genuine. It’s heartbreaking, but in three weeks, your season is over. And it sucks.
One big F U to China.

He’s tied to Hillary and was to accept a post in her govt had she won.
That might splain some things.

Move this shite to the MSB. I don’t want any association with that cuck pussy and LSU.

Thank God we got rid of him.

And asymptomatic people are way less likely to infect others. Not 0%, but very small chance compared to the viral load when shedding it with symptoms.

My Dad has cancer and is high risk.
Ok so here is the answer to that and what you should do. PROTECT YOUR DAD.
Here is what you DO NOT DO.
1-Do not shut businesses down.
2-Do not close schools.
3-Do not cost people their jobs.
4-Do not cause people to lose homes.
5-Do not cripple the economy.
6-Do not shut athletics.
7-Do not quarantine HEALTHY people.
Do you see how this works? It is called individual responsibility.

Why you ma9ing things up?
I had to get tested for work in NOLA. Results back in 25 hours. I'm no one special and don't work in a field that would get special treatment.

CDC guidance indicates asymptomatic carriers are 75% as infectious as symptomatic (100% infectious). Meaning you have a 75% chance of being infected with Covid-19 if in “contact” with an asymptomatic carrier.

You’ve pointed out one of the problems. Testing has been at the center of the problems with mitigating spread from the start of this pandemic in the US. I assume you got the RT-PCR (they drilled for oil up your nose). That’s the most reliable. Results come
Back on average in one day to one week DEPENDING LOCATION. Allegedly one of the major concerns the Big Ten HQ had was because receipt of results is location dependent, not all teams could get tests back at the same time. The antigen and point-of-care tests aren’t as reliable. Antigen is pretty reliable but FDA still requires a second test if the first comes back negative.
ACC, Big 12, and SEC will have the same issues.

Van Kerkhove noted that when health officials review cases that are initially reported to be asymptomatic, “we find out that many have really mild disease.” There are some infected people who are “truly asymptomatic,” she said, but countries that are doing detailed contact tracing are “not finding secondary transmission onward” from those cases. “It’s very rare,” she said.

From TN Department of Health as of yesterday, 0-10 ages: 4 deaths; 11-20 ages: 0 deaths; 21-30 ages: 14 deaths. Obviously, like everywhere else, this virus kills people over 70, but also obese and those with co-morbidities. What’s interesting, at least in TN, the age group that has the most cases are those aged 11-30 with 35% of the cases.
Myocarditis, not death, has emerged as the key concern with this virus for athletes. But that’s a well understood condition with well known treatments (and also caused by the flu, common cold, and mono).
Among other things I’ve mentioned, I think the Big Ten did what it did because of the Indiana O lineman who’s in some rough shape with myocarditis.
