I was a close neighbor of his when we were six yo kids in Broadmoor. His older sister used to put on neighborhood talent shows in his back yard. He and I used to be the best football players in the area during pickup games. His Mom made my date's corsage for my senior prom. When coaching at BHS, he would drive players home after practice since many of them rode the bus to school and had no other way to get home. This thread brings back so many old memories for me.

Awe man I hate to hear that. I graduated from Tara in 85 and I think he was the BHS coach then. I played baseball so wasn’t too knowledgeable of the football coaching staffs in BR schools. RIP Coach.

Sorry to hear this news. I played at Lee High in the late 80’s and Broadmoor under his leadership were as tough as they come. I met him on many occasions and he seemed like a great person as well as coach.

Bucky Richardson was a beast in football and baseball. 3 years playing against him was tough.

Funny how things changed. When I went to school there, he was hated by many of the players. Earned a reputation as not a tough but a brutal coach. His temper legitimately scared people. Quite a few footballers would not come out for track because he was the coach. Funny how things have changed over the years. People change too and sometimes for the better.

Broadmoor's football team got screwed over big time by bussing. Big time . One year his team won one game because he hardly had any players thanks to Parker, Eames, and Perreboom.

I was class of ‘82. Played football and track. He was one you either loved or hated, because he pushed you to be your best and would call you out when needed.

He dedicated his life to teaching and coaching high school kids at Broadmoor. Glad he got to see our old field named after him. He was a good man.

He was an assistant coach at that time. Bob Carter was the head coach until 1983 when he became assistant principal. Coach Price took over for the 1984 season. Played for both coaches. RIP Coach Price.

I vividly recall a brutal practice (in full pads) one Saturday morning after an awful loss to Denham Springs. His practice sessions made boot camp seem like recess. LOL

They don't make them like him anymore! RIP, Coach Price!
