He’s been an assistant line coach in the NFL since 2015.

Crazy that the only requirement to be a coach on LSU's staff is that you have to be a hall of famer.

Ohhh wait that's right we don't have a single NFL hall of famer on the staff

Is this suddenly a requirement for a coach?
It’s certainly not a bad thing but actual coaching experience is more important.

I’ve played, coached and been to speeches at the HOF, what does that qualify me for?

If he were such a hot commodity, he would be an OL coach right now.

How about we stop obsessing over former LSU players and look for the best available coach?

Powerman...you’ve been here on TD a while. About as long as I have.

I suggest you stop thinking like an adult or thinking how a multi-million dollar program should hire coaches. That’s not how it works around here good sir.

I have to say the “when was he inducted into Canton” comeback might be the dumbest thing ever said during a coaching search thread. I understand that is a bold statement but should we start naming the non HOF Coaches?

OL Recruiting has been our biggest issue for a long time and every major recruit’s end goal is to play in the NFL.

Mawae can walk into a living room and explain to recruits that he can help them achieve their goal to succeed at the highest level because he was done it and has the gold jacket and bust in Canton to prove it.
