Excuse me, I will now use RS, but still I want you to understand RS will get more play this game than last, and I am willing to bet money he is going to have at least one chance at a pass play while at quarterback. Book it BT.

If they scored 17 points against k-state, how are they going to score a lot on us. I don't think their defense is going to stop the offense; but our defense is more likely to stop their offense.

the logic that ULL beat Kansas State so they are capable of beating LSU is bad logic for a few reasons....When Kansas State has gone 5-7 every since 03-04 doesn't seem like they were winning very many conference games and eventually in this years case they are stuggling to win OOC games....UL looked nice in 2 quarters vs. southern and racked up 17 points vs. K-State doesn't lead me to believe the challenge will be too great wake forest guy

Why is it so far-fetched to believe that Miles is keeping the offensive conservative?

Well, for one, because we aren't playing conservative on offense.

going five-wide 50% of the time isn't conservative.

running your star WR on option plays multiple times isn't conservative.

inserting your phenom freshman into a semi-close SEC game isn't conservative.

throwing the ball to seven different receivers isn't conservative.

having four different RBs touch the ball is not conservative.

Letting your 19-year old quarterback chunk the ball 30 times isn't conservative.

putting your All-SEC runningback at FB isn't conservative.

Running no-huddle consistently isn't conservative.

Oh yeah, and everything above being done in the rain most certainly isn't conservative.

Is our offense clicking on all cylinders yet? Of course not. Has our offense found it's identity and go-to guys yet? Of course not. Are we spreading the ball around in these "preseason" games looking for that identity? Of course.

But our offense under Miles/Crowton is anything but conservative, and anytime I hear someone say we're being too conservative on offense, I excuse myself from the conversation because the person I'm talking to doesn't know anything about LSU football.

Good post JP ...only thing i can say are there only giving Jordan a couple progressions so hes only hitting stops and outs for the most part and that dredded bubble screen we threw for a loss twice against vandy, the passes crowtons asking him to make are very marginal and i'm looking for some deep balls so we can use this talent we supposedly get from all these top recruiting classes

It's coming, just be patient. Let us not forget what happened last year when we let an inexperienced QB start throwing the ball downfield on a regular basis.

Jefferson is learning, growing comfortable into the position of starting QB for the best show in the state, and it's going to take a little time.

The vertical passing game is coming, but as LSU fans we've just got to be patient. These coaches know what Jefferson can and cannot do and what gives us the best chance to win games now and in the future as Jefferson grows up in this system. Let's walk before we start running, so to speak.

plus Les is not gonna show anything on offense.
Doesn't need to show anything. Plain vanilla smashmouth football, no razzle dazzle and the score is still 46 - 3.

Book it!

Enough with the DEEP BALL shite.. Yes we need to have it in our arsenal.. but I'd say the most important thing for a new QB is to get him some good short passes.. some completions.. march down the field and score..
No need to chunk it 60 yards each time..

Once Jefferson is ready.. they will run this more.. but there are plenty of teams that run the "just get 4 yards each down and you win" plan.. and yeah.. they win.... I always criticized what I called the "first and Hester" but the dude always got 4 yards.. and opened up the play book for the rest of the downs.. Plus won a NC..

Oh.. and it's going to be a blowout..

tgrb8 i agree that we need to create solid drives but a team like UL is the perfect team to start slinging it all over cause i watched a couple recievers from southern torch them for 250+ sir

There is no way LSU is playing up to their potential right now, and there has to be a reason for this.

This is the biggest fallacy being promulgated on the rant...day in day out, 24-7 dilusional LSU fans moaning about how we are not maximising our potential and the coaches are not using our multitude of weapons. The only thing LSU is not playing up to right now is the....FREAKIN' HYPE. Almost everyone here believes that our talent is 'so much more superior' to every team we play and it has to be the coaches fault that we're not beating everyone we play by 50 pts. Get real people...unless you just woke up from an 18mth coma it should be obvious that our talent is still good to very good but in no rational way, shape or form has it proven itself to be superior or dominant of the other teams we have faced.
We beat a solid to good team Pac10 team 2500 miles from home who possessed one of the most athletic qb's we will ever face on an opening nite redemption quest in front of 75K fans just as pumped as any seen in Death Valley. We beat an extremely well coached Vanderbilt team with four Sr starters on the offensive line that won more SEC games last year than we did and we did it in monsoon conditions by playing smart, taking our points and protecting the ball. We play in a conference that is talent rich across the board and possesses top to bottom the finest lineup of coaches ever seen in college football. This weekend will be our last so-called 'warmup' and if history is any indication we should comfortably pervail. After that it is the week in, week out SEC meatgrinder and winning and only winning will be the issue...not by how much or how pretty. The SEC is about survival and the bottom line is 'just win baby.'

ULL will be pumped and on a mission. They beat a BCS team a week ago, and are undefeated. The fanbase and players are going to be sleeping walking through this weekend.

If you watch the miami qb throwing it all over the place, completing almost everything, you may wonder why jj can't do that.
Then you see that acc commercial, and you remember they're playing in the acc, and you remember jj DID do that to ga tech last year.
I really wish people would shut up until the play calling blows a game instead of winning.
